Another happy weekend blog post!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! It is time for another post about another weekend. I did work both days this weekend, but since I enjoy my work, it is fine with me. However, I am going to include Friday in this post, and I did have that day off. With that said, let’s get to it!

Friday – As I mentioned above, I did not have work on this day. I ended up staying home all day except for going on a walk to see my neighbor’s ponies. It turns out that they are both ponies! I thought the bigger one was a horse, but now I know for sure that they are both ponies! We gave them carrots and they were very happy about that. I also published a blog post about my job on Friday. ( You can read it HERE) It was a nice relaxing day off.

Saturday – I worked the opening shift on this day. I did have time before work for two of my favorite things, and those things are coffee and thrift shopping. I went to Starbucks, and I did a mobile order like I normally do. However, it was very busy in Starbucks that morning, and it took a little while to get my order, but that was fine. I still had time to go to a local thrift shop before work. At the thrift store, I started in the book section where I got three American Girl books. In the toy section, I got this really cool Crayola activity kit. The other things I got during this thrift shopping trip are a pair of coke a cola sunglasses, a sticker puzzle activity set, a craft punch shaped like a sea horse, and a pen holder.I was happy with my thrift finds for the day. After thrift shopping, I walked to work. I love being at work. I work at an indoor plant store and it is a relaxing place to be. During my break from work, I walked down to the candy store, and I got a small bag of bulk candy, Later on that evening, I went to the store and got some yummy food! It was a good day!

Sunday – On Sunday, I worked the closing shift. I started the day off by getting coffee and a donut and going to church. After church, I had some time before my work started, so I went back home for a while. During work, I went to the candy store again on my break. After work, I got some Kinder Joy eggs at Walgreens. It was a good way to end the weekend.

Thanks for reading about my weekend!

Toy store fun on my lunch break

Hello, my bucket list, friends! Thursday, on my lunch break, I walked down to a local toy store. My new job still allows me to walk to the toy store, and Thursday, on my lunch break, that is what I did. I did not really have anything in particular in mind, but I knew I would find some some fun things there. I was curious to see if there were any Barbie color reveal items, but I didn’t see any. I did see some Disney Princess color reveal toys that I considered getting but the price was more then I was willing to pay so I made a mental note to look for it at other stores to see if I could get it at a lower price. However, I did end up buying four items that I’m excited to tell you about. One item I got was a crayon with many colors. The crayon is made up of different colors of hearts. To use a certain color, you have to move that color of heart to the bottom of the stack. I also got some stickers shaped like sunglasses. Each pair of sunglasses has a different city’s skyline printed in the lenses of the glasses. The two other items I got are a Disney Pez dispenser and a package of two bracelets that can be decorated with the flat Lego blocks that come in the package. Going to the toy store was a fun activity to do on my lunch break!

I got a wonderful new job!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! After getting the news that the health food store I was working at was going to be closing, I went on a job hunt. I wanted to get a new job quickly so I would not have to apply for unemployment. After applying to many jobs and doing some interviews, I got a great job working at Leafy. To put it simply, I’m a sales associate who sells beautiful indoor plants. I spend my shift in a gorgeous environment. I’m learning so many new things about house plants. I can’t wait to keep working here. I’m very blessed to have this job.

I opened up two mystery eggs from Safeway

Hello, my bucket list, friends! I know that it is not even February yet, but Safeway already has some Easter items available. On Sunday, when I went to Safeway, I was excited when I saw these large plastic eggs that had a surprise toy inside. I bought one but I did not open it until yesterday. speaking of yesterday, I went to Safeway again, and I bought another surprise egg. I decided to open them up together. I made a reel on Instagram of me opening up the eggs. My user name is summerrockstar if you want to see it. There was one very cute plush animal in each of the eggs. One of the eggs had a yellow chick inside the other one had a white lamb. I did notice that the chick had a what appeared to be dirt on it. I used a rag, soap, and water to clean it off. I would consider buying another one of these eggs.

My weekend fun, including Savers and Point Lobos!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! This is another weekend blog post, but I did some really fun things this weekend that I’m excited to tell you about, so let’s get to it!

Friday – The big highlight of this day was going to Savers! This was my first thrift shopping trip of 2023 . I was super excited to go to Savers and see what I could find. However, before we went to Savers, we went to Starbucks. I found some really great items to add to my collection. Two of my favorite items that I got were a Barbie doll and a Barbie book that had a picture of the doll that got on the cover. I didn’t realize that until I got home. It was a pleasant surprise. Some other items I got were an Equestria girls doll, a Barbie matching game, a Ty beanie Boo and My Little Pony party invitations. It was a great thrift shopping trip to start the year with. After thrift shopping, I went to Safeway. I go this really amazing cupcake with two rings on it. Friday was a pretty awesome day.

Saturday – Just like Friday, Saturday was a really great day! My mom and I went to Point Lobos. It is a truly beautiful place. The water was such a beautiful color, and the Cypress trees were very interesting to look at. I had a wonderful time hiking and taking in the beautiful views. I also got some fun souvenirs at this cart that was located by the trail head to the Cypress trail. Point Lobos is definitely worth going to if you get the chance. It was so amazingly gorgeous that it was had to believe that it was actually real at times. I highly recommend adding this location to your bucket list. I wish I had had this location on my bucket list because it was so interesting and beautiful. After exploring Point Lobos, we went to Monterey. In Monterey, we got coffee at a place called Tidal Coffee. The coffee was really good here, and so was the veggie burrito. We also got some fancy soaps at a store on Cannery Row. The soap I got has a unicorn toy in it. Then we met my dad for dinner before driving back home. It was a really wonderful day.

Sunday – This day started off with a walk. We got to see my some of my favorite animal friends on our walk. After our walk, we went into town and we went to Petco, got coffee at Starbucks, walked in the park, and I went to two different grocery stores and CVS. At Safeway, I got this plastic egg that has a surprise toy inside. I also want to add that I went down one of the slides at the park. The rest of the day was spent relaxing at home. It was a great way to end the weekend.

Thanks for reading about my fun filled weekend!

The not so great things that have happened so far this year

Hello, my bucket list, friends! I know I usually keep a happy tone on this blog, but every now and them, I need to rant about the things that have been stressing me out, and this is one of those times. When 2022 turned into 2023, I was and still am very optimistic about the year ahead. However, we all know that life is not all cupcakes and roses. Pretty early on in 2023, I got the news that the store I had been working at since October was going to be closing. Back in October, I made the choice to leave the field of childcare due to my stress level also I was wanting to pursue other careers. I was happy when I got hired at the health food store (Urban Remedy), and I have really enjoyed my time working there. I was upset when I found out the store was closing because it meant that I had to leave a great job it also meant that I had to go back on the job hunt again. I hate going on interviews it makes me nervous. However, I’m happy to say I got a job that I’m excited about, but it was a long road to get there. The other not so great thing that happened to me was somehow I ended up getting pink eye! Not only is pink eye unpleasant, but it also caused me to miss a day of work. When the infection cleared up, I was ready to go back to work the next day. However, due to a power outage, that was not possible. I’m happy to say that things are looking up now. I’m excited to start my new job and see what adventures are waiting for me!

My Target fun on a Monday

Hello, my bucket list, friends! It is time for a quick post about the little shopping trip I went on Monday. I don’t go to Target as much as I would like to, so I was happy to get the opportunity to go. I didn’t have a very big budget, but I wanted to treat myself to a few things from the dollar section. I was happy to see that there was a good selection of items in this section. I ended up choosing three items from the dollar section. One item that I was really excited about was a turtle shaped bath toy set. It came with one big turtle and two little turtles. For only three dollars, this was a really good deal to me. Another thing that I found in the Dollar section was a cute toy dinosaur that was only a dollar. My final item that I got in the dollar section was a cute Valentine’s Day plush that has a clip so you can attach it to a backpack or purse. I had gotten one of these plush clips last month, but there were different designs to choose from. This time, I got a brown bear that was holding a red heart. I got got a little container of rainbow goldfish crackers. It was a nice and quick trip to Target.

Paint + Pez +pasta = my weekend!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! It is time for another weekend blog post! I’m including Friday in this weekend blog post as I do with a lot of my weekend blog posts. Without any more introduction, let’s get to it!

Friday – I didn’t go anywhere on Friday unless walking outside in the rain counts. However, on Friday evening, I got to eat pizza, and I had been craving pizza. I also decided to do a Breyer horse art kit that I had. It was hard to open the paints in the kit, and I wish that they had been a wider variety of colors included. The colors that came with the kit were black, brown, and white. It makes sense because those are realistic colors when it comes to horses, but it was kind of hard to paint with just those colors. When I was done, my horse looked like he had been rolling in the mud, which is something horses do, so I chose to name him Muddy!

Saturday – The first activity I did on Saturday was going on a nice walk during a break in the rain. Even though everything was wet, it was still nice to get out and walk. After that, my mom and I went into town to do some errands. We went to Pet Co, and they were doing cat adoptions there. I enjoyed seeing all the super cute kittens! We also went to Starbucks and Safeway. Starbucks is always a highlight for me. However, my favorite part of this day was going to Safeway and getting a new PEZ dispenser! I’ve gotten into collecting PEZ dispensers lately, and I was happy to add another Valentine’s day themed one to my small collection of PEZ dispersers. I also got a vegetarian cup of noodles at Safeway. I ate it that afternoon, and I had way too much fun taking pictures with the noodles! It was a pretty good day.

Sunday – I stayed home all day on Sunday. I stayed in my pajamas and relaxed most of the day. However, I did publish a short story on vocal media for a contest they are having. ( You can read it HERE) It took me a while to write, and I’m really happy how it turned out. That evening, I made some super yummy rainbow pasta it was the perfect way to end the weekend.

Thanks for reading about my weekend! I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Rainy days with spots of sun

Hello, my bucket list, friends! As some of you may know, I’m a lifelong resident of the state of California. A state that is known for its beautiful sunny weather. Well, lately, it was not living up to that reputation. It has been a very rainy 2023 for California. Don’t get me wrong, we need the rain. California has had a problem with not getting enough rain, so rain is a good thing. However, the amount of rain we have been getting lately has been causing some serious problems all over the state. These problems include mudslides, power outages, flooding, and road closures. It has been a little scary, but so far, the worst things I’ve experienced with this storm are some pot holes and a power outage. Even with all the rain, there have been some bright moments this year, and I thought it would be fun to write a blog post about them, so let’s get to it.

My Spots of sunshine during the rain

Animal friends – I have gotten to spend time with some of my favorite animal friends lately. Including dogs and ponies! I’ll post some very cute  posts of my animal friends in this blog post. Enjoy the cuteness!

Fun shopping finds – I’ve gotten some fun things on my trips to the grocery stores. My favorite things that I have gotten lately are a basketball kinder egg, a very cute Valentine’s Day bear Pez dispenser, and a tin of mints from Trader Joes.

Lisa Frank art kit – I had a great time making a kaleidoscope with a vintage Lisa Frank art kit ( You can read about it HERE )

New pen and notebook – On a quick trip to Office Depot, I got a new pen and notebook. They are both blue, and I’m excited to use them both this year.

Lots of coffee – I’ve gotten to go to Starbucks a lot so far this year. It is my favorite place to get coffee, and it is the perfect thing to bring my comfort on a rainy day.

Going on walks during the rain breaks – I’m happy to say that there have been plenty of breaks in the rainfall. During those breaks, one of the best things you can do is it go for a walk. I’ve gotten to go on a good amount of walks lately, and I’ve enjoyed them except for getting some water in my shoes!

Thank you for reading about the bright spots during the rainy days!

I built a kaleidoscope with a vintage Lisa Frank art kit

Hello, my bucket list, friends! It’s time for a blog post about a really awesome art kit! I got this art kit as a gift, and I love it. My top three favorite things I love about this kit are 1. It’s Lisa Frank brand 2. It’s a kaleidoscope, and I have never had a kaleidoscope art kit before 3. As far as I can tell, this kit is from the 1990s,and since I was born in 1990, it’s a nostalgic time period for me. It took me two days to finish this kit. I didn’t realize that you need tape for this kit so the first time I worked on this kit I chose the items that I wanted to put it the small container that goes at the end of the kaleidoscope. The kit came with beads and a colorful string. However, I ended up just putting some of the beds into the container because the container would not close correctly with all the beads inside. I decided to leave out the string and some of the beads. I hope to my leftover items on another project. There was also a part of the kaleidoscope that had to be tapped together and put inside. Once I had tape, that was a pretty easy thing to do. When it came to the outside of the kaleidoscope, there were four pieces of paper that you could hose from to cover the outside with. They had different designs on them. The kaleidoscope was big enough to fit one paper of each size. I chose to do the horse and roses. I used the markers that came in the kit to color the pictures. I made the pictures very colorful because when I think of Lisa Frank, colorful is one of the first words that comes to mind. Since the makers had been in the kit for a long time, some of them were a little bit dried up, but all of them worked well enough. After I put all the parts of the kaleidoscope together and colored the pictures. The last thing I had to do was tape the pictures on the outside of the kaleidoscope. Once that was done, I had a beautiful Lis Frank kaleidoscope.

Thanks for read about this art kit adventure!
