2023 year in review

Hello, my bucket list, friends! Well, here we are at the end of another year! This year was a reminder of how blessed I am. Even in the hard times, God’s blessings stood strong. As with every year, I made progress in some areas, and I had setbacks in others. However, I would say that this year was overall good. I’ve highlighted some of my biggest moments of the year below. I hope you all had overall good years as well.

The not so great moments – I decided to start with this category to get it out of the way so I can focus on all the positive things for the rest of the post!

My dad had a heart attack – I don’t think I wrote about this in my blog, but in May, my dad had a heart attack. It was a very scary thing, and I’m incredibly thankful to God for being with my family and helping us all through this difficult time.

My unstable job situation – At the beginning of this year, I was working at a health food store. Early on in the year, I found out that the store would be closing. I went on a job search, and I was hired at a store that sells houseplants. During the summer, I got the news that the store would be closing. I was not happy that I had to go on another job hunt. Even though it was stressful, I ended up getting hired at Walgreens in August, and I have been working there since then. Job hunting is very stressful, but I’m thankful that I have a stable job now.

My emergency surgery – While I was unemployed after losing my job at the plant store, I ended up having surgery after going to ER because I was in awful pain. It turned out that I had a grapefruit sized ovarian cyst that had twisted. I had to have it removed right away, and I was very scared because I had never ben put under before. My surgery ended up being successful, and I was able to go home soon after it was finished. I’m very thankful that my surgery went well.

Bucket list items that I crossed off – I crossed some more bucket list items off this year! I’m happy with the items that crossed off, and I’m excited to see which items I will cross off in 2024.

#265 visit the Pez factory – This was a very fun item to cross off! I highly recommend exploring this place if you get the chance.

#15 Go to Las Vegas – I finally went to Las Vegas! I went with my mom and my friend it was a great trip!

#272 – Eat at the Amy’s drive through restaurant – This item was crossed off by surprise! I did not know that they had this restaurant at the airport we were going to. I was very excited when I saw it.

#306 Eat cake from a vending machine – I crossed this item off while I was in Las Vegas it was a very simple item to cross off but I enjoyed it!

#301 Tie Dye a plush animal – I got little build a bear craft kit online to cross this item off.

#295 take a typing test – I enjoyed crossing this item off more than I thought I would. I was very proud of myself for improving my score until I got one that I was happy with.

#257 Read 50 books in a year – I just recently crossed this item off it was a challenge but I’m so happy I did it!

Travel and day trips – I went on my fair share of adventures this year, including some bucket list locations. I also went on some fun day trips, including going to the Jelly Belly factory on my birthday.

Day trip to Point point Lobos – This was a fun day trip that I went on early this year. It was a very beautiful place.

Vacation to Connecticut – This trip was so much fun! I loved exploring this beautiful state and going to the zoo

Road trip to Oxnard – We went to Oxnard to see the Dallas Cowboys at their training camp. On the way we stopped at a zoo. We also spent time in Santa Barbra.

Idaho – I went to visit family here but we also went on a day trip to a hot spring. I also got to do some thrift shopping while I was there as well.

Movies I saw in theaters – I enjoyed watching some movies in theaters this year. Here is a list of what I saw!

The sound of freedom – This was a different kind of movie than I would usually go see, but it was a good one, sad but good and powerful.

The journey to Bethlehem- This was a really good movie the music was so much fun!

Wonka- I saw this movie on Christmas day it was even better than I was expecting it to be.

My Christmas Eve! Blogmas day 24

Hello, my bucket list, friends, and Merry Christmas! I hope you all are having a wonderful day with your loved ones! The focus of this blog post  is going to be about what I did yesterday. I started my Christmas Eve off by going to get coffee, and then I went to church. I loved being at church on Christmas Eve! My favorite part was getting to sing Christmas songs. I really liked that Christmas Eve was on a Sunday this year. Going to church was a good reminder to focus on the true meaning of the holiday. With that being said, I’m going to pause and say happy birthday, Jesus! This time of year gets extremely busy, and it is easy to get distracted, but it is important for us all to remember why we celebrate. After church, I went home for a little bit, and then I went to Starbucks and work. At work, things were busy for a while, then they were very slow , and then they were busy again. The day was less hectic than I thought it was going to be. During one of my breaks, I bought a Disney princess color reveal toy that I had been thinking about getting for a while. It was my Christmas Eve gift to myself. I also got some great gifts from my work family. Even though I worked a full shift, it was a good Christmas Eve.

Merry Christmas- Christina Epperly

Employee shopping day and a Barbie activity kit blogmas day 22

Hello, my bucket list, friends! On Friday, we had an employee shopping day at work where we got a bigger discount than normal. I had the day off but I came in to shop. I mainly got household items, but I also got a large Squishmallow and a pair of fuzzy socks! The next day at work, I noticed a Barbie activity kit that I had not seen before. I was so excited when it came time for my break. I went and bought it right away! It is a simple kit that has an activity pad and stickers, but I’m still really happy that I got it!

I’m excited to see what she series she is from. Some of my other finds included some American Girl books, stickers, two Barbie puzzles, four TY beanie babies, a bag with two Christmas craft kits in it, and a set of plush Peeps. being busy and breaktime shopping blogmas day 19

Hello, my bucket list, friends! I’m really behind on my posts for blogmas, and there is a reason for that. Work has been very busy, and it has been very hard to keep up with a lot of things, including my blog posts, but I’m determined to catch up. The fast pace of work has had me stressed out lately, and it is no secret that I like to shop when I’m stressed. Well, let’s face it. I like to shop anytime. Anyways I’ve been getting some really cool things during my little shopping trips including a Barbie doll, two plush dogs that sing, Lion King toys, surprise squishmellows, another Barbie color reveal doll and, candy. It might not just be the stress that is causing me to shop so much. when you are working in retail, especially at this time of year, there is a lot of shopping going on around you and maybe seeing people buying all kinds of things and also buying lots of things at once has inspired me to shop more. I also got some more Christmas presents for my family. Have you been shopping more this week ?

New Barbie color reveal doll blogmas day 18

Hello, my bucket list, friends! I’m finding it difficult to keep up with blogmas, but I’m not giving up! We got some new Barbie color reveal dolls at work. At first, I could not find any information about the series that we had, but then I discovered that it is a 1960s themed series. The first doll that I got in this series is the one that is shown on the container. I love that she has bun on the top of her head. I also love that she has pink in her hair. I love this series, and I hope they make more series inspired by decades. I would love a 1990s series!

Two fun Christmas celebrations blogmas day 17

Hello, my bucket list, friends! Overall, December is a very busy month with a lot of events happening! On Sunday, I attended two fun events. The first one was a very yummy potluck after church. Our church also had a beautiful Christmas tree. Later on in the day, I went to the next event a party at my cousin’s house. There was more amazing food, of course, but we also played one of my favorite Christmas games. We did the white elephant gift exchange game. I always have fun playing this game, but I really loved it this time because I got two Squishmallows! I had a really great day spending time with family and friends!
