One of my favorite thrift shopping finds, a trip to the mall ,a new phone case and more

Hello, my bucket list, friends! I’m excited to share more of my October fun. In this post, I will share one of my all-time favorite thrift finds! I go thrift shopping a lot and I find a lot of cool stuff but sometimes I find something that I get really excited about and last month I experienced one of those times. I’m very excited to tell you about it so let’s get to it!

10/21/2024 – On this day at work, I got two really fun items. The first one is a Squishmallow Christmas blanket. It is so soft that I’ve loved having it on my bed because the nights have been much colder lately. The other thing I got are Christmas gel clings for my window. I love decorating my window with gel clings, and I love finding gel clings to decorate with.

10/22/2024 – On this day, I went to the mall. I got got some very cute clearance items at Claire’s and some very cute stickers at Daiso. I also went to Taco Bell. I love going to Taco Bell. since the one closest to me closed, I don’t get as many opportunities to go. It was a great evening at the mall. I also went to Target and Starbucks.

10/25/2024 – On this day, I went to my favorite local thrift store. I got some great items as I usually do. This thrift shopping haul includes a bunch of beads, a Build a Bear plush, some small Christmas Squishmallows, Pez dispensers, a bucket hat, stickers, and more! After my thrift shopping fun, I went to get coffee. After coffee, I went to the toy store to get some surprise toys! At work that day, I got a new Squishmallow and a Christmas coloring book. It was a pretty great day!

10/26/2024 – On this day, I went to Starbucks. I also went to work. At work, I got two sets of plastic rings, some chocolate, and a wind-up toy. It was a normal but a good day.

10/27/2024 – I had this day off, and this was the day I got the item that I talked about at the beginning of this post. Before I went to the thrift store, I went to vote, and I went to lunch. When I made it to Savers, I was ready to shop. I went to the normal sections of the thrift store that I usually do. I got a Squishmellow that still has the tag, a bag of hair bows, Barbie dolls, a bag of rubber ducks, and some books. I was also ready to check out when I decided to walk around the store a little bit more. There were some costumes by the regular clothing, and there were two jackets that caught my eye. I could tell that they were military jackets. I tried one of them on, but I noticed that the other jacket had some patches on it. I took a picture of the patch, and I learned that the jacket was from the us Marine Corps. I also learned that the rank was lance corporal. The jacket was priced at $24.00, and that is usually way more than I would pay for a jacket at the thrift store, but this was so much more than any regular jacket. I have a lot of respect for our military, and I knew that I had to give this jacket a good home. After getting the jacket, I found a few more things like some Barbie flash cards and some gel clings. After the thrift store, I went and got coffee. I put my new jacket on when I got home. I took so many pictures in it. I love this jacket so much! I put it on all the time. It is very well made and it is good at keeping me warm. I’m still very surprised that I found this jacket at the thrift store. This was also the day I got my new phone case. I had ordered it and this was the day that it was delivered. It is a fun case with a pink background that has butterflies on it.

Sunglasses, a squishy lama and dinner with my cousin

Hello, my bucket list, friends! This month is turning out to be a lot more fun than I had planned on it being, and that is a very welcome surprise. Last week, I had Wednesday and Thursday off from work. On Wednesday I went into town and I went to a store that I don’t think that I had ever been in before. I got a pair of purple sparkly sunglasses. Then I went to one of my favorite local toy stores. Outside of the store there is a sale table. I saw a Barbie that was out of the box but in good shape. She was only five dollars, so I was more than happy to have her join my collection. Inside the store, I got some ice cream shaped erasers, a very cute and squishy lama toy, and more. I also went to Blue Bottle coffee for the first time. I got an iced coffee, and it was pretty good. It was also a very sunny day and I wore a dress for the first time in a while. The next day, I did not have anything planned, but I was happily surprised when my cousin called and asked if I wanted to go to dinner. We went to the Lazy Dog. I had never been there before but now that I have been I can recommend it. It was really good to get to go to dinner with my cousin. I have wanted to focus on being more social, and I have had some good opportunities to do that this month. After we ate dinner we went to Barns and Noble. I got two books. One was a book made up of a bunch of short Barbie books, and the other was a larger Barbie book that comes with toys. Last week my days off were pretty exciting and I’m happy about that.

My first movie of 2023 plus going to Target and more!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! Another weekend has come to an end so now I’m going to write about it! This weekend was full of some of my favorite things, and I can’t wait to tell you about it. without any more delay, here we go!

Friday – I worked the closing shift on this day, but I went into town a little early, so I would have time to go to the toy store before my shift started. At the toy store, I got some frog stickers, a ring shaped like a panda head, a toy car, and two shaped erasers. After the toy store, I still had a good amount of time before work, so I went to the candy store where I got a lollipop that has purple sparkly lips on the stick. After all of that, I still had one more thing to do before my shift started. I went to get coffee at a local coffee shop that is close to my work. Then I went to work. Work went well, I love being in a store that is full of beautiful plants.

Saturday – I had this day off, and I made sure to plan some fun things for the day. I got tickets to see 80 for Brady, a movie that I had been wanting to. If you have not heard of this movie, I recommend looking it up. The movie theater we went to was located in my favorite mall. We had some time before the movie so we went to Claire’s. They were having the three for three sale that they have often. I went to the clearance rack, and I got some fun items, including a hair bow and a ring. After Claire’s, we walked back to the theater. I got coffee, and my mom got tea at the theater. Then it was movie time. I won’t give anything away, but the movie was so good. I highly recommend going to see it. It was a lot of fun to watch and it was also inspiring. After the movie, we went to the Target that is part of the mall. At Target, I got another My First Barbie doll. I already had the one with blond hair, so this time, I got the one with brown hair. I’m excited to have this doll in my collection. In the dollar section, I got two small craft kits and a Disney activity kit. After that, we left the mall and went to the hardware store to get some bird seed. At the hardware store, I got two squishy toys. Before we went home, we went to Starbucks, and I got coffee and a cakepop. It was a good way to wrap up my adventures for the day. I went home and relaxed, but I did get a visit from my neighbor’s very cute dog. I also made pasta for dinner. It was a really fun day.

Sunday – I worked the opening shift this day. Of course, I went to Starbucks before going to work. After a normal day at work , my mom picked me up, and we stopped at Safeway before going home to watch the Super Bowl. At Safeway, in addition to food items, I also got a cute bunny toy at Safeway. I did enjoy watching the Super Bowl, but I was hoping for more from the commercials. However, there were a few commercials that did stand out, but overall, they were not as good as they have been in previous years. I really liked the Amazon add with the dog. I wish there would have been more ads like that. Anyways, watching the Super Bowl was a good way to end the weekend.

Toy store fun on my lunch break

Hello, my bucket list, friends! Thursday, on my lunch break, I walked down to a local toy store. My new job still allows me to walk to the toy store, and Thursday, on my lunch break, that is what I did. I did not really have anything in particular in mind, but I knew I would find some some fun things there. I was curious to see if there were any Barbie color reveal items, but I didn’t see any. I did see some Disney Princess color reveal toys that I considered getting but the price was more then I was willing to pay so I made a mental note to look for it at other stores to see if I could get it at a lower price. However, I did end up buying four items that I’m excited to tell you about. One item I got was a crayon with many colors. The crayon is made up of different colors of hearts. To use a certain color, you have to move that color of heart to the bottom of the stack. I also got some stickers shaped like sunglasses. Each pair of sunglasses has a different city’s skyline printed in the lenses of the glasses. The two other items I got are a Disney Pez dispenser and a package of two bracelets that can be decorated with the flat Lego blocks that come in the package. Going to the toy store was a fun activity to do on my lunch break!

Blogmas day 10 Two trips to Starbucks and fun at the toy store.

Hello,my bucket list, friends! Welcome to the 10th day of blogmas! Yesterday, I went to Starbucks twice, and I also got two fun items at the toy store. I can’t wait to tell you more about it, so let’s get to it. My first trip to Starbucks was before I went to work. I got a sugar cookie almond milk latte. That drink has become one of my go-to Starbucks drinks lately. After that I still had time before work so I decided to go to the toy store. I was planning on getting another play foam pals toy. I didn’t see any at first, but then I saw that they had a few left. I got an orange colored one. I haven’t opened it yet, but I’m excited to see what toy is inside the foam. At the toy store, they were having a sale on advent calendars. They were 40% off. I decided to get this one that had 12 ornaments in it that you color. After the toy store, I went to work. My work day went well, and then I went home. However, when I was close to being home, I realized that I had left my toy store bag at work. I went back to work, and I was happy that I didn’t leave it outside. I had left it on a table inside. After I got my bag. I went to Starbucks again. I want to get my my something to say thank you to my mom for taking me back to work. I also got myself a peppermint mocha and a snowman cookie. It was a good way to end the day.

Work, Christmas lights and shopping fun including Savers

Hello, my bucket list friends! It is that time again! That’s right it is time for another blog post about what I did over the weekend. I’m happy to say that I did go shopping at Savers because it felt like a really long time since I had last been. I also went shopping at one of my favorite local business. I can’t wait to tell you all about it so let’s get to it!  

Friday – I had work on Friday but before work I went to Petco and Starbucks because my cat Cooper needed wet food. The good thing about Cooper needing wet food was that Petco is right next to Starbucks. I love going to Starbucks and it was the perfect way to start my day. This Friday was the day after Thanksgiving it is also known as black Friday. Meaning that it is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. The store got busy at times but it was a pretty normal day overall. After work I walked to the candy store where I got a Pez dispenser and a tube of candy that had a toy monkey on top I also got a can of mineral water from the brand Liquid Death. I got the lime flavor it’s my favorite flavor in that brand. After the candy store I went home and had a normal night at home.

Saturday- I did have work on Saturday. However before work my mom and I went to Starbucks , went on a nice walk at the park and then I went shopping at one of my favorite local toy stores. This is a different toy than the one that’s close to my work. I love this toy store a lot. I was happy to find some fun items on this shopping trip. I got two blind bags that have Breyer horses in them. I also got a Breyer Horse that was not in a blind bag. I was happy to see that the toy store had a lot of fun Christmas items. I got a Snowman ring and a cute chipmunk plush I also got some stickers as well but they weren’t Christmas themed. I was very happy with my little toy store haul. After that I went to work and had a good day working. After work I went to Safeway where I got a cupcake with rings on top. It was a great day!

Sunday – On this day I had the day off. I had one thing that I really wanted to do and that thing was to go shopping at Savers. I love going to Savers but it had been a while since I had gone there. Before Savers I we did make a stop at Starbucks. When we got to Savers I went to the toy section to look for Barbie dolls. There was not a large selection of dolls available however I did end up choosing three dolls including one Barbie that I believe is from the 70’s or 80’s. After that I went to look in some of other parts of the toy section including the plush animals. I wasn’t finding anything thing else that I wanted to add to my collection. Then in the game section I found a Candy Land game that was in a collector’s tin. Candy Land is one of my favorite board games. After that I found some more thing to add to my cart including a Full House book, a Candy Fairies book, three toy horses and a American Girl board game. I went back in looked in the toy section again and I’m glad I did because that is when I found some of the items I mentioned above. I’m happy to say that I got a Build a Bear that is supposed to also work as a speaker. I did not find this bear in the toy section I actually found this bear in a bin of go backs. I asked a nearby employee if the items the the bin where available and I was very happy when I found out that they were. I named my new Build a Bear Musical. I also got a cute sweatshirt from Old Navy. After Savers I got a gift card for a neighbor’s dog because were we going to a birthday party for the dog. The party was a lot of fun I loved seeing a bunch of the neighborhood dogs. After the dog party it was time to start putting up our outdoor Christmas lights. We made a lot of progress and our lights already look amazing. I love all of our candy cane shaped lights. It was a really good weekend!

Candy, coffee, and toys

Hello, my bucket list friends and Happy Thanksgiving! This year I’m spending thanksgiving with someone I love a lot! My cat Cooper! Cooper loves that I’m home because it has been cold lately and when it is cold cats love to cuddle! Anyways I wanted to talk about some of my highlights this week. So let’s get to it!

Tuesday – I had work on Tuesday after having Sunday and Monday off. One thing I really like about my new work is that the location is close to plenty of places that I can walk to. One of my favorite places that is close to my work is a candy store. Another one of my favorite near by places is a coffee shop that is near the candy store. On Tuesday I had time to go to both of these places before I had to be at work.  After I went to the coffee shop I went to the candy store where I got a mineral water. I love that the candy store has Liquid Death brand mineral water. I also got a snowman Pez dispenser. After that I went to work and then back home. I love that I can do some fun things before work now.

Wednesday – Once again I had some time before work to do have some fun. Before I got my coffee I went to the toy store. Yes, there is a toy store and a candy with in walking distance from my work now. When I went to the toy store I was not sure what I would end up getting but I knew I wanted to get another play foam pals. Play foam pals are a container of play foam with a toy animal hidden inside. I decided to get green play foam this time. I also bought two other items at the toy store. One was a candy cane shaped pop toy the other is a Christmas sticker book. I’m in a Christmastime mood and I can not seem to stop buying Christmas themed items. After the toy store came a visit to the coffee shop. After that the day was just like the day before. A good day at work then time to go home. However going home happened a little earlier on this day because the store I worked at closed early due to thanksgiving.

This weekend put me in a Christmas state of mind

Hello, my bucket list friends! Another weekend has gone by so it is time for another post about my weekend. This Post however has a little bit of a theme. I know it’s not even Thanksgiving yet but I’m in a Christmas state of mind! My weekend kind of ended up having a Christmas theme to it. I’m already looking forward to the Christmas fun that is going to be coming my way next month. Without any more delay let’s get to my Christmas themed weekend.

Friday – I had work on Friday but before that I went and got Starbucks. I got one of the Christmas themed cups. Starbucks is also in a Christmas state of mind. After Starbucks I went in to work. I really enjoy my work now so my days are much happier then they were before. I now work at Urban Remedy and they have amazing food. They are worth checking out if your are looking for some healthy and yummy food. After work I went to Walgreens. I had a big project that I was working on and I needed to get some items for it. My church participated in Operation Christmas Child this year. If you have never heard of Operation Christmas Child, Let me give you a quick explanation. Basically you are giving a child a shoebox full of Christmas presents. You chose a gender and age range and then fill the box with items with that in mind. I put together three shoe boxes. I needed to get some more items for the boxes so that was my main reason for going to Walgreens. I also got some items for myself while I was there. The Christmas section at Walgreens was full of fun items. I got a plush reindeer, a gingerbread man toy, and a art kit. I’m happy to say that I got many great items for the shoe boxes. This little shopping trip was a great way to start the weekend.

Saturday – I did have work on Saturday but I did have some time before work to get Starbucks and go for a walk in the park. The park that we have been walking at lately has become one of my favorites because it has a playground it is usually not very busy. While I was at work I tried the Sour Patch Kids popcorn that I got at Five Below. I will make a post reviewing the popcorn but I will say that I did like it. On my lunch break at work I walked to a toy store. I’m so happy that I work with in walking distance to a toy store now. Toy stores are something that definitely go well with Christmastime. This toy store was in a Christmas State of mind right along with me. They were many Christmas items available however the items I ended up getting were not Christmas themed. One of the items I got could be considered a Christmas item because it would make a really good stocking stuffer. It was something that I don’t remember seeing before. It’s called Play Foam Pals. It is a container of play foam with a toy hidden inside. I also got some stickers and two animal shaped erasers. That night after work I opened up the play foam and saw that there was a penguin inside. I’m happy that I went to the toy store on my lunch break because it became the highlight of my day.

Sunday – Sunday was another work day for me. I Started my day just like I did the day before. We got coffee then went on a walk at the same park. After that I went to work and I had a good day. It was a shorter shift so I didn’t have a lunch break. However, after work my mom and I went to Safeway to pick up a few things. Safeway had their Christmas items displayed in different areas of the store. In the frozen food isle I was surprised to see the Barbie Color reveal advent calendar. It looked similar to last year’s advent calendar so I had to look it up and make sure it was a different one. Once I saw that it was I decided to get it. Once I got it down from the top on the freezer I saw that there was a different Barbie advent calendar behind it. It took me a little bit but I decided to get the color reveal advent calendar that I had originally saw. It was truly a good way to end the weekend.

My last weekend as a preschool teacher

Hello, my bucket list friends! Today is my last day at work before I officially leave the world of child care. Hopefully this the last day I will have to wake up early for awhile. Before my career officially comes to an end I had one more weekend as someone who had to go back to the world of preschool/childcare on Monday morning. This weekend was pretty normal but it was also pretty nice. On Friday after work I went to Safeway to get a few things. My favorite things that I got at Safeway that day are a pack of 24 candy canes and a Christmas cat coloring book. I know it’s October but I can’t help it. I love Christmas! On Saturday I did one of my favorite activities. I went to Starbucks then I went to a park. At the park I made sure to go down the slide! I like the play structure at this park and it was not crowded at all. After the park I went to a local toy store where I got some horse toys, a craft kit, a pop toy, and a bath bomb style toy that has a sea animal toy hidden inside. I should add that the weather was absolutely beautiful. It did get cold later that day but when I was in town it was really nice. After I came home it was a pretty relaxed day overall. My cat got to spend some time outside that is one of his favorite things to do. Later on in the I made a fun video for Instagram it was windy and cold when I made that video so I went back inside right after recording that video. ( You can see the video on my Instagram page my username is summerrockstar)I also spent sometime playing Project Makeover on my phone I love that game. Sunday was a pretty relaxed day as well. I finally decorated the biggest pumpkin that I got at the pumpkin patch earlier this month. The highlight of my day was going on our normal Sunday errands. I got a snack to review at Trader Joe’s, and I got a big cupcake with three rings on top at Safeway! Oh and before all that I went to Starbucks and got an iced coffee. Later that night I watched the Rookie one of my favorite TV shows. It was a pretty nice and easy weekend.

My latest shopping fun 1/22

Hello, my bucket list friends! Shopping has been one of my favorite hobbies for years now! The past two days I’ve gotten to do some fun shopping and I wanted to share it with you. On Friday I went to a local toy store. I was happy to see that the store had some items on sale that were displayed towards the front of the store. From that display, I got a jar of bath bombs that have prizes inside. I’m excited to see what prizes are in the bath bombs. I love getting Breyer horses at this toy store. This time I got three small blind bag horses and a horse you can paint. I also got a sea animal art kit. I’ll let you know when I paint the horse! Yesterday, I went to the Goodwill. There were a lot of items to look at. I  was able to find some items that I was excited to  take home with me. Some of my favorite items that I got yesterday were a My Little Pony Monopoly board game, a Barbie doll that was wearing a very pretty dress,a Build a Bear brand bunny plush, a twisty pet that was still in the package, a Lisa Frank coloring book, an American Girl activity book, a Barbie story book with stickers, and a lamp for my desk. It was a successful thrift shopping trip. I need to start working on my reading goal for this year maybe I will start with some of the books I got yesterday.
