My last weekend as a preschool teacher

Hello, my bucket list friends! Today is my last day at work before I officially leave the world of child care. Hopefully this the last day I will have to wake up early for awhile. Before my career officially comes to an end I had one more weekend as someone who had to go back to the world of preschool/childcare on Monday morning. This weekend was pretty normal but it was also pretty nice. On Friday after work I went to Safeway to get a few things. My favorite things that I got at Safeway that day are a pack of 24 candy canes and a Christmas cat coloring book. I know it’s October but I can’t help it. I love Christmas! On Saturday I did one of my favorite activities. I went to Starbucks then I went to a park. At the park I made sure to go down the slide! I like the play structure at this park and it was not crowded at all. After the park I went to a local toy store where I got some horse toys, a craft kit, a pop toy, and a bath bomb style toy that has a sea animal toy hidden inside. I should add that the weather was absolutely beautiful. It did get cold later that day but when I was in town it was really nice. After I came home it was a pretty relaxed day overall. My cat got to spend some time outside that is one of his favorite things to do. Later on in the I made a fun video for Instagram it was windy and cold when I made that video so I went back inside right after recording that video. ( You can see the video on my Instagram page my username is summerrockstar)I also spent sometime playing Project Makeover on my phone I love that game. Sunday was a pretty relaxed day as well. I finally decorated the biggest pumpkin that I got at the pumpkin patch earlier this month. The highlight of my day was going on our normal Sunday errands. I got a snack to review at Trader Joe’s, and I got a big cupcake with three rings on top at Safeway! Oh and before all that I went to Starbucks and got an iced coffee. Later that night I watched the Rookie one of my favorite TV shows. It was a pretty nice and easy weekend.

Colorful and creative drawings!

Hello,my bucket list friends! In addition to blogging drawing is one of my favorite things to do. Recently I drew two more pictures in my sketch book. I’m pretty happy with both of them. One of them was based on the rain storm that we had over the weekend. I drew a fun umbrella with rain drops and rain clouds. The other picture was of a snail. I don’t know why exactly but I really love drawing snails. With this drawing I used many colors for the snail to give it a fun look. Since we are on the topic some of my other favorite things to draw are balloons, flowers, coffee mugs, ice cream cones, birds, and trees. I find drawing very relaxing and I hope to share more drawings with you soon.

Thanks for reading!

Best bath bomb so far !

Hello, my bucket list friends! I want to really work on slowing down this year and taking time to relax. One of the ways I’ve been doing that is by taking relaxing baths. I’ve gotten more and more into using bath bombs. I ordered a four bath bombs online from this company called Two Sisters Spa. I used one of the bath bombs I ordered from there last night and it is the best bath bomb I’ve used so far. It’s smelled like candy, turned the water a beautiful blue color and it had a unicorn toy inside! I can’t wait to try the other bath bombs that I ordered from them.

Christina Epperly MT ( My life as a massage therapist)

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I’ve talked a little bit about my job as a massage therapist but I thought that it would be a good time to give all of you a deeper look into my career.  I know people consider career changes all the time. If you happen to be considering a career in massage therapy , I hope this gives you some valuable information to help you make your decision.  Anyways let’s get to it !

Christina Epperly MT ( My life as a massage therapist)

I don’t think it matters what career you choose or if you go to the best school in your field ( like I did ) nothing can fully prepare you for a career until you’re there.  NHI (The school I went to) provided me with excellent information and hands on experience. NHI went to great lengths to prepare all of the students for the real world of massage and I’m very thankful for that but one thing I’ve learned in life is that experience is truly the best teacher. Now, that I’m officially working as a massage therapist I find myself learning more and more everyday . My co-workers have been very helpful in sharing information with me and I’ve been soaking it up like a sponge. I’ve also got to be honest my body is not used to having to do the amount of massages in a day that I’m doing now. I’ve been sore but I can also feel my body getting stronger ! I’ve been making sure to stretch and to stay hydrated to help myself be the best I can be. I’ve been getting some great feedback from my wonderful clients, I love being able to help people relax and reduce their stress. Giving massages can also be relaxing for the therapist. I like the relaxing music and the fact that I just have one thing to focus on it’s a break from the stress of the outside world.  A career as a massage therapist is challenging but rewarding. If you are interested in the topic of health and wellness and enjoy helping others you may want to look into a career as a massage therapist .  Thank you for reading !

My essential oil diffuser !

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I’m happy to say that I’ve already been making some progress with some of new years goals ( you can read them here ) including finally setting up my essential oil diffuser ! I’m excited to tell you about it , here we go !

My essential oil diffuser !

I got my essential oil diffuser from Amazon. There are many different styles to choose from with a pretty wide range of prices . The one I chose is cone shaped and it changes colors . It has been sitting in my room for a while but today I finally got it set up. I’ve mentioned before how much I love lavender ( you can read about it HERE) so of course that was the first oil that I put in my diffuser . As soon as I turned the diffuser on it began to fill my room with a wonderful relaxing  lavender scent . I also loved the changing colors it was a fun touch . Before long my room was a lavender paradise ! I’m excited to try other oils in my diffuser as well .  I’m also excited to use this diffuser more and more to help me relax .

I love Lavender ! ( especially when times are tough )

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I consider myself to be a very open and honest person.  I have talked about my struggle with OCD on this blog before . The truth is things have been hard for me lately . My depression was acting up a few weeks ago . I became exhausted from everyday life. All I wanted to do was sleep . I became more prone to panic attacks .Then things really got bad when a friend of mine died unexpectedly . Since then I’ve had more panic attacks and even some chest pain . There lots of things that I do to help me through a hard times. Such as getting enough sleep,( but not too much) working out , praying , and writing .  Lately I’ve been getting more into essential oils . One of my favorite essential oils is Lavender it is so calming and relaxing . I’ve been using it the past few days or so and it is amazing ! It helps to calm me down very quickly ! I got some in a spray bottle that I can carry with me and use it as needed . I know that there are other kinds of essential oils that can be helpful for stress as well but for now lavender is my go to for stress relief !
