Welcome to my nightmares

Hello, my bucket list friends! This post is gonna sound a little strange but I am an artist after all. Last month I went to an Alice Cooper concert. During the the show he wished the audience horrific nightmares. This got me thinking can you make yourself have nightmares? I’ve also realized that it’s been years since I’ve had a real nightmare. I’ve had odd dreams but nothing terrifying. So I set out on a quest to give myself nightmares. I started off by asking my friend Google how to give myself nightmares. One of the first things that I read was a wiki how page ( You can read it HERE) I tried to follow the tips such as eating spicy food and sleeping on my stomach. I took vitamin B and watched horror movies. In a strange turn of events it turns out that I like some horror movies. I was still hoping that they would give me nightmares but no such luck. I experienced at least one dream that I would classifie as odd but not a real nightmare. There was one night I tried everything I could think of. I took vitamin B and melatonin at the same time and I watched a true crime documentary right before bed and…….. I didn’t have any nightmares! What’s wrong with me ? Like for real why can’t I have nightmares? When I got sick I thought I might have some nightmares since my sleep schedule was all over the place but that did not happen either.Anyways, since I was unsuccessful in this quest I thought I would share some interesting dreams and nightmares I’ve had in the past. It’s been a while but I want to say probably around five plus years ago that I had a bunch of dreams about being a criminal. Now, it was nothing violent I was usually a thief of some kind. One dream that stands out to me ,was one where I was running down a road holding a large suite case filled with cash. I have no idea where I got the suite case from or where I was trying to run to but I knew that the police where looking for me. It was then that I saw a police officer with his young son in a driveway and I made the decision to turn myself in. I remember the officer being shocked when I walked up to him and the dream ended with me getting arrested. Another dream I had that followed this pattern was one that took place in some kind of fantasy universe. I was standing in front of a long table and behind the table was a woman who was either a judge or a ruler of some kind.On the table was a device that was used for punishment. It was a container that you stuck your hand into and it would shock you. What stands out about this dream was the fact that I remembered a quote from it. As I was standing behind the table the woman asked me if I was scared. I gave the following reply. “No, I’m a criminal, it’s not like this is the first time I’ve been punished.” Now, this was not something that I would say in real life so it was a surprising thing to dream. Other dreams I had the follow this pattern include a dream about running from law enforcement through a mall and another dream about spending a night in jail. As for the nightmares I had when I was younger I remember one pretty clearly. The was a rattle snake in a cottage cheese container in my backyard and it was biting me. It bit me a total of three times and according to my nightmare that meant I was gonna die from it. Another nightmare I remember having when I was young is one where I got some kind of cut that couldn’t be healed and it was going to eventually lead to my death. These nightmares do have some similarities. However, I curious to see what kind of nightmares my mind would come up with now that I’m in my thirties but I guess my brain is done with having nightmares .Well at least for now it is.

Five great reasons to make a bucket list

Hello ,my bucket list friends ! I hope you are all having a great month . I really love writing this blog and I want to publish more posts each month so I thought it would be fun to make a list of the reasons why having a bucket list is awesome because I’m surprised that many people don’t have one !

Reasons to have a bucket list

  1. keeping your dreams in sight – Let’s face it life is busy and it is easy to lose sight of the things that you want most in life . A bucket list is the perfect thing to keep you focused on your dreams .

2. It’s a great way to face your fears – Having things written down is great way to remember to get things done . If you want to face some of your fears write them down on your list . Seeing them written down can be great motivation to make your fears a thing of the past and imagine how great you will feel when you cross that item off .

3. discovering new dreams – As I looked for list items ,I found some cool things to add to my list that I probably would have never thought of on my own . By making a bucket list I discovered some cool things that I got excited about . My list helps me to dream big and discover new goals .

4. Going on great adventures with great people – I love getting the help of my family and friends to cross items of my list . Crossing items off your list can be wonderful way to make some lasting memories with your loved ones .

5. Bucket lists are fun ! – I enjoy having a bucket list for many reasons but really they are a lot of fun ! I have created so many great memories by crossing items off my list . There are somethings that were a lot fun that I may not have done if I didn’t have my list .

I hope this inspired you to make a list of your own !

mission MBLEX accomplished

Hello , my bucket list friends as some of you may know I graduated from massage school back in October . (You can read about it here ) Even after finishing an intense one year program I still had a big hoop to jump through before I could officially become a massage therapist . I had to pass an exam know as the MBLEX. I first took the test back in December , I was unable to pass the first time and I was very upset about it . I cried a lot that day but I moved on from that and stepped up my studying and I took the test this past saturday and I passed it ! I’m so happy to be done with that test ! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off me. I can’t wait to start working as massage therapist ! After I finish some more paper work I will be able to have two amazing careers ! I’m so proud of myself and I feel so loved from my family and friends ! Thank you all for you messages of congratuations !

Super Run 5k February 2018

Hello ,My bucket list friends ! One of my goals for 2018 is to get back into doing 5k races. I’m happy to say that I recently did my first race of the year it was a really fun! Keep reading to hear all about it !

Super Run 5k February 17th 2018

I really enjoy doing 5k races but it had been a while since I had done one because I was in massage school for a year . Now that I have more time I’m excited to get back into doing something I love . The day of the race I was excited and ready to go . As you might have guessed the race had a super hero theme. A lot of the racers dressed up in some really fun and creative costumes but I stuck to my workout pants and a purple shirt . I was doing the race with my mom and we both wanted to walk the 5k so we stayed together during the race . The race was held at a beautiful park that I had been to before but I had never done a race at . The was a lot of great scenery to look at as my mom and I fast walked our way through the race . When we got close to the finish I ran across the finish line ! I was so happy to get my awesome finisher’s medal . Not all 5k races give out finishers medals but I love when they do and that was one of the reasons that I chose this race . I had a great time with my mom at the Super 5k and I can’t wait until I get to do another one !

Five signs it’s time to move on from your job

Hello, my bucket list friends! Since January always seems to be a slow month for me, I thought that now would be a good time to share with you one of the many lessons that I have learned in life. I have seen many people and I have even be one of those people who have a job that is not good for them, but they feel like they can’t or shouldn’t leave. There can be many reasons a person may feel this way, Money is of course the biggest reason you will hear but another reason is people get used to their jobs and even though they are unhappy they stay because it is what they know. Moving on from a job even a bad one can be difficult, but when it comes to having a good job you need to put yourself first in order to find a job where you can use your talents to achieve succus and be appreciated.

Looking back when I was in a job that was not good for me I missed many of these signs, I believed that it was normal to feel that way about your job. I’m so blessed that now I have two wonderful jobs, but I know that there are many people who are in jobs that are not right for them. Based on my personal experience here are five signs it’s time to move on from your job.

  1. You dread being at work

You wake up on a work day and you wish you could be going pretty much anywhere else and you hope for traffic, car trouble or even a cold to keep you away from work. When you’re at work you constantly stare at the clock counting the minutes until your off. If a supervisor happens to ask if anyone wants to leave early, you always volunteer even if it means you will lose money.  The truth is you are going to be spending a lot of your life working and there is nothing good about spending a large portion of your life dreading every day you have to work. Putting up with these feelings of dread and even sometimes hatred is not worth a pay check. Life is much better when you are spending your working years doing something you love or at least working in a place you don’t hate.

  1. You are constantly talking about how bad or frustrating work is

When you’re not at work you can’t stop focusing on it in a negative way. You will talk about it to anyone that is willing to listen. You have many stories about how bad you have been treated at work. You could go on forever about being treated unfairly, receiving no support from your supervisors, and how you don’t feel appreciated.  Even when you’re not at work you can’t get away from the way that you feel. When The negative emotions from your work are having a harmful impact on your personal life it really is time to move on. Your negative feelings for your job are stealing away conversations and time with your family and friends. It is next to impossible to enjoy life (even your days off) When you are in a negative work environment.

  1. You are only in it for the money

If you didn’t need food or if you didn’t have any bills to pay you would leave in a heartbeat. You don’t enjoy what you do for hours a day. You find the work to be unfulfilling you don’t feel proud of what you do every day. With this kind of job when someone asks what you do for work you just answer in a disappointed or angry tone. If you’re not excited to tell others what you do, then you probably shouldn’t be doing it.

  1. The other people at work

We will all have to work with people that we don’t like or that we would never spend time with outside of work. That’s just a fact of life, but when someone you work with epically a supervisor seems to go out of their way to put you down and is anything but helpful when you are having trouble, it is definitely time to address the problem.  Doing this could help make the work environment safer for you and maybe even others. If after you contact other supervisors or even the HR department and nothing is done to resolve the situation, then it is time to move on to a safe work environment where the employee’s wellbeing is valued.

  1. You’re bored or anxious

Some jobs are exciting and different each day other jobs are all about routine. Both types of jobs can be perfect depending on your personality, but sometimes people are in a hurry to start working that they will take the first or highest paying job that is offered to them. If you find yourself bored and feeling stuck doing the same thing every day .Or on the other hand, if the very thought of going to work makes you nervous because you are not comfortable with what you do and you find it too risky it is time to move on to something that is better suited to your personality and strengths. It can be easy to take the first job that comes your way when the bills are due but if your personality clashes whit the job description it will do you a lot of good to find a job that is the right for you.

More December fun and life updates

Hello, my bucket list friends! More Christmastime joys

The joy of Christmastime keeps on coming! My mom and I got to go to an awesome Christmas Rock concert by the band December people. It was a very fun night I hope I get to go see them again sometime!  I got to celebrate the season with one of my work families at a very yummy Italian restaurant I had a fun time eating and laughing with all the wonderful people I work with!   There was also another wonderful party with my other work family complete with a White elephant game I ended up with a huge umbrella and two pairs of gloves! On December 23rd, I went shopping at the Goodwill and I got a huge haul! I found so many awesome things all at great prices. That evening went to Gilroy gardens for the first time. I really enjoyed the special holiday dinner. The potatoes and apple crisp tasted so good!  The rides were also lots of fun I the banana split ride, the carousel and the train were some of my favorites and I was able to buy a beautiful snow globe to add to my collection. To top it all off I ran into one of my friends from childhood it was great to see him. The whole park was beautiful the decorations were so pretty, and the trees are breath taking. If you ever get the chance I highly recommend it Christmas eve and Christmas day where also great but the deserve their own blog post

The Rollercoaster ride of life

Alright I’m just going to say it right now, I failed the MBLEX, but that is not going to stop me from becoming a massage therapist. I’m going to take it again until I passed. Some dreams take more time to accomplish then others. I’m not going to lie I was very upset that I did not pass, and I cried a lot in the car but I know I can pass it just say tuned my friends because as low as I felt that day I know that things are looking up for me and I can’t wait to start working as a massage therapist! Keep dreaming and rock on – Christina Epperly
