Idaho adventure August 2023

Hello, my bucket list, friends! This month, I went on an adventure to Idaho. I go to Idaho pretty often. However, this was my first time going there this year. I have a good number of family members living there, so that is the main reason I visit Idaho so frequently. This time, we were going to celebrate my grandma’s birthday. Since my birthday is this month I was also a part of the celebration. It was a pretty fun adventure, and I can not wait to tell you more about it, so here we go!

August 9th – This was the day my mom and I flew to Idaho. When we got there we went to lunch with my grandparents. Along with my lunch I had some soft serve ice cream, and of course, I put sprinkles on it. I was happy to see family members that I had not seen in a long time including my grandparents dog.

August 10th – Today was a big shopping day! I went shopping at JC Penny’s , Walmart, and two thrift stores. I got several great items. Some of my favorite things I got are a pair of flipflops with a colorful heart pattern, a new Barbie doll from Walmart, a bunch of Barbie books, a Las Vegas mug, A Build a Bear plush that has a colorful star pattern, a duck plush from Las Vegas, and a rubber duck that looks like a fire fighter from the two thrift stores I went to. It was a good day of shopping and being with family in Idaho.

August 11th – Today’s big highlight was going on a trolley tour of Boise. I did enjoy ridding the trolley and seeing some beautiful things and learning about some of Boise’s history. I also went to another thrift store on this day. I did not get much, but I did get a craft kit, some stickers, and some teeny Beanie Babies. There was also another trip to Walmart that night where I got some of my favorite juice that comes with toys.

August 12th – This day was a really fun one. This was the day we celebrated three family birthdays, including mine. I started the day by getting Starbucks and then going shopping at the Dollar Tree. At the dollar tree, we got some balloons for the birthday party we were having. I also got some stickers, two art kits, a set of two hair accessories, a set of four water balls, and more! To celebrate our birthdays we went to a restaurant for some very good food and they also sang happy birthday to us. I also got some ice cream there. After lunch, some of us went to pick up some desserts to take to my grandparents’ house. I chose a colorful cake that a plastic balloon decoration on it. The night I went on a walk with my mom and my sister. It was a great way to end this wonderful day.

August 13th – On this day, I went with my mom and sister on a day trip. We drove for a while before stopping at a convenience store. Then we went to Kirkham Hot Springs. It was really interesting to visit a natural hot springs. I got some good pictures there. I do recommend visiting this location. We also went to Red Fish Lake and we rented a peddle boat there. I liked that the boat was sparkly. After the lake we went to a restaurant before going back to my grandparents’ house.

August 14th – This was the last full day we had in Idaho before we went back home the next day. It was a pretty lowkey day, but I did go to Burger King, and the one went to had one of those really cool touch screen soda machines.

August 15th – This was that day we went back home. Our flight was not till afternoon so we had time to go to breakfast. We also got to the airport early so I had time to play in the arcade where I won some prizes from the claw machine. I also got two Idaho souvenirs from a store at the airport.

My 32nd birthday weekend!

Hello,my bucket list friends! On Friday I turned 32! I did a lot to celebrate and I can’t wait to tell you about it. I started my celebration by staying up so I could have a drink at midnight. It is kind of a tradition of mine. After a quick drink I went to sleep. I started off the morning like I always do by going to Starbucks. I had on a 90s Barbie party hat that I got from Poshmark. I go to that Starbucks all the time so when the employees saw my party hat they wished me a happy birthday. At work the kids were so nice. They wished me happy birthday many times during the day. They even gave me artwork as birthday gifts. I also got a card, flowers and cake from my boss and coworkers. I brought cookies to share with everyone. After work my mom picked me up and we went to Savers. As always when I go thrift shopping, I hoped I would find a cart full of treasures. However, I didn’t find that much this time. I am happy with the things I did find though. I got two Barbie dolls, four Beanie Babies a Barbie bag, a shirt and a good amount of books. After thrift shopping and a quick stop at home we went to dinner. I decided to go to a place that has arcade games. I love playing the claw game here because I usually win a prize. This time was no different I won two squishy toys. It was a pretty good birthday. The next day it was time for my birthday weekend adventure to start. My mom and I left that morning and headed to Piont Reys. We did have some stops along the way including Starbucks and Goodwill. At this Goodwill I got three things. A Melissa and Doug craft kit, a bead kit from the 90s, and a little carousel horse. Our first adventure in the Point Reys area was to check out the shipwreck in Inverness. This shipwreck is how Point Reys got its name because that was the name of the ship. It was a very interesting thing to see. I got a lot of great pictures. I’m glad I went to see it. The next stop was the Point Reyes lighthouse. This place turned out to be very crowded. The light house was cute but it was going to close soon. It’s a long way down to the lighthouse and it is pretty difficult to climb back up to the top. I was going back up as fast as I could so I could get to the visitor center before it closed. I got to the visitor center just as the looked the door. I was very disappointed. However, even though I didn’t know it yet things were about to turn around. We decided to had to Drakes beach next. I knew that they had a visitor center but they also have a store there as well. There was aĀ sign said that their store was already closed but it turned out that it was open. The visitor closed while I was in the store but I was happy to get some souvenires and explore the beach. IĀ  also got a map of Point Reys. I had fun exploring the beautiful beach and as a bonus it was notĀ  crowded at all. After spending sometime at a beautiful beach my mood had completely turned around. After the beach we went to explore the cypress tree tunnel. This is a beautiful place to take pictures. At the end of the tunnel you will find a building that is home to a radio station. I really liked exploring this area. Near the building we found a fallen tree and you could see the roots. After a day full of exploring we checked in our hotel that was located in San Rafael. The next morning we met my sister for breakfast. After a very good breakfast we walked around a little bit and visited a book store. It was a pretty great birthday weekend.

Drink review! Warheads sour green apple soda.

Hello, my bucket list friends! It’s time for another drink review. Today I’m reviewing Warheads sour green apple soda. I got this can of soda at a candy store in Monterey. I’ve been excited to try it and today on my lunch break I finally did. I love the green color and the apple pictures on this can. When I fist tasted this soda I could  immediately taste the apple flavor. It took a few seconds for me to notice the sour flavor. I could definitely taste the sour taste but it was not unpleasant. I really enjoyed the apple flavor. I found this soda very easy to drink. I’m so happy I decided to review this dink because I like it a lot. I highly recommend trying this soda  especially if you are a fan of sour apple candy!

A fun filled day in Monterey!

Hello,my bucket list friends! On Saturday I went on a day trip to Monterey. My mom and I started our day by getting a tour of the Monterey state historic park. The tour started at the custom house that is located right next to old fishermen’s wharf. My mom and I were the the only people who showed up for the tour so it ended up being a private tour. The tour was very informative about the history of Monterey. My favorite part of the tour was the beautiful gardens we got to vist. One of gardens had Koi fish. I loved watching them swim around. The tour ended at the Pacific house. The thing I loved about this place the most was that it had a free museum. There were several interesting exhibits to see here. There is also a gift shop. I got some souvenires here. There is also a gift shop at the custom house. After exploring the museum we went back down to the wharf. There were a bunch of sea lions hanging out near the wharf. I got some really good pictures of them. I have visited the wharf before and I have a favorite gift shop and a favorite candy store there. I went to both. I got some great souvenires at the gift shop including a new snow globe for my collection! At the candy store I got a bunch of taffy! I love getting taffy at this candy store. The have barrels full of it and there are so many flavors to choose from. After shopping we walked a little bit on a path near the wharf. We did walk very far because we were in a two hour parking spot and we needed to move. After our adventures at the wharf we went to meet my dad for lunch. We went to a restaurant called Tarpy’s Roadhouse. The food was great and so was the location. There was a pond here that had lots of turtles in it. I had a great day in Monterey!

Light heart book club August 2020

Hello,my bucket list friends! Since it’s August 18th ,I figured now would be a good time to announce my book club pick for August. Without anymore delay let’s get to it!

I had a hard time choosing this month’s book. I had one in mind but when I started reading it, I didn’t know if it would be a good fitĀ  for the book club. I actually ended up choosing a book that I got at the Goodwill on Saturday. The book is part of the whatever after series. The title of the book is Dream On and it’s written by Sarah Mlynowski. I’ve already started reading this book and I can’t wait to discuss it later this month! It’s a fun adventure story that I think is perfect for the Light Heart book club!
