Hello, my bucket list, friends! This month, I went to a local used book store. I also went to my storage unit. I dont know if I’ve ever talked about my storage unit on my blog before, but I’m proud of it, and I’m excited to tell you about it, so let’s get to it!
Used book store 2/18/25 – 2/19/25
I found out that there was a used book store by our local library. I also found out that the prices were all around 1 or 2 dollars. I first went on the 18th. I was so excited when I saw all the American Girl books that they had, including some from when I was a kid ! They were only a dollar each ! I also got a Breyer horse book. I did have to go to work, so I didn’t get to look around as much as I would have liked to, so I went back the next day, and I got a few more books! I’m excited to continue visiting this book store !
My storage unit – 2/17/25
On this day, I went to visit my storage unit because I had some more items I wanted to put in it. I was excited to go there and see my large teddy bear again. It was actually a bucket list item to get her, but since she is a large bear, it was better for her to live in my storage unit than my messy room ! If I ever get my own place, hopefully I will have enough room for all my collections, but for now, I’m proud that I’ve collected so many items that they have to have there own place. I don’t seem to achieve the same milestones that others do, and that’s not on purpose. However, it is what it is, so. I’m going to take my wins where I can get them. I’m happy to say that I’m an expert at collecting, and I’m also a proud maximalist! Having a storage unit was not on my bucket list, but having one makes me feel like I crossed off a bucket list item!
Thanks for reading!

I think you did mention your storage unit once, because I remember reading about it. It’s lovely to see how much joy you have, what you stand for and write about, and pictures of your storage unit.
Personally, I hope to never need a storage unit but then again I don’t have much stuff to store (but my family has a lot of stuff and we need a bigger house). Everyone has different milestones in life and it’s not a competition by any means. I don’t collect things but used to make collecting my hobby/passion until I was in university and realized I had too much stuff to move out of my parents’ house. It took me 3 weeks to sort through everything. I’ve stopped collecting because of this (it’s too much for me to maintain now) but can see why it brings people joy.
Thanks for your thoughts and encouragement. What did you use to collect?
I used to collected rare Hello Kitty items, most of them were imported from Japan. My parents and I would go to tea shops and gift shops to search for Hello Kitty because they knew I liked her. I had this really nice figurine in this clear box, with Hello Kitty dressed in a beautiful kimono. I also collected other items like an engraved Hello Kitty pen, purses, etc.
This was before Hello Kitty became so popular and it’s so mainstream now. It’s lost its charm so I stopped collecting. I still value rare items from gift shops and other imported items.
I also collected manga at one point because a girl from my night school got me into it. And some other Knick knacks. I pretty much stopped collecting everything but will still buy things if it truly speaks to me.
That’s so cool. I love Hello kitty! I bet you had an amazing collection
Did you keep any of the original things that you collected?
I also forgot to mention my video game collection. I still have most of my games even though I can’t play them anymore because they’re so outdated and my PSP doesn’t work anymore. Some of my games are super rare and probably worth a lot of money, but it’s a very specific niche and idk who would actually buy these games. Maybe eBay but I don’t really want to learn how to sell on eBay. I might try selling them to a local retro gaming shop. There’s not much of a point of me keeping these games if I’m not going to play them.
And yes I did! I kept everything unless something broke, I sold it, or a book got damaged which has happened on multiple occasions lol The box I kept my books in is likely has water damage so there’s a chance I might not be able to keep any of them. But I’ll leave that for future me to deal with when I’m at my parents’ house.
