Summer wrap up 2019

Hello my bucket list friends I guess it’s time to say goodbye to summer since it is the last day of August and labor day will soon be here. So without out further delay let’s say goodbye to my favorite season.

I have a hard time saying goodbye to summer but I also enjoy looking back on all the fun times I had. Ok ,where do I start This summer was jam packed with fun! Let’s just go over some of the big highlights. I saw some great summer movies including Toy story 4 and the Lion King, I went on my big summer shopping spree, crossed four things off my bucket list ( you can read about them HERE, HERE , HERE and HERE . )  I had an amazing vacation to Portland were I visited the world’s largest book store, walked around some beautiful gardens , explored the zoo and an awesome science museum. I spent some time with some pretty awesome people. Painted a very cute ceramic bunny at petroglyph. Oh and how can I forget about the beautiful weather. Yes, some days it was hot but I just love the sunshine. The more I write about my summer the more fun things I remember like the amazing  day trips I took to Monterrey and San Francisco. In Monterrey I got to explore the 17 mile drive and take some fun pictures at Selfieville. In San Francisco I took a boat tour, went to aquarium of the bay, and took a bus tour around the city. In conclusion my summer was a lot of fun and I can’t wait until next year

San Francisco day trip Aug. 2019

Hello, my bucket list friends ! Earlier this month my mom and I went on a fun day trip to San Francisco. I can’t wait to tell you all about it so hold on tight and here we go !

San Francisco day trip Aug. 2019

I’m so blessed that I live only about an hour drive from a major tourist city! I’ve been to San Francisco quite a few times but this city has so much to offer it wasn’t hard to find things there that I haven’t done before. When we got to SF we signed up for a boat tour that passed under the golden gate bridge . ( I’ve walked across the bridge before you can read about it HERE) Before the boat tour we took a walk over to pier 39 and I did one of my favorite things souvenir shopping! I all ready have some souvenirs from my previous trips to San Francisco including some snow globes but I had some things in mind that I was looking for. I found this amazing snow globe that has the whole state of California on one side and San Francisco on the other side . I was so happy when I saw this snow globe I knew I just had to get it ! I also knew I wanted to get a stuffed animal wearing a San Francisco shirt I have quite a few stuff animals wearing shirts from other destinations but I didn’t have one from SF. I got a very cute seal that was wearing a San Francisco sweat shirt I picked out a few other things then it was time for the boat tour ! We were one of the last people to get on the boat but we found some good seats by a window on the upper deck. The boat ride included an audio tour. I enjoyed listening to the audio tour it provided all kinds of interesting facts about the places we were passing. It was so cool to pass under the Golden Gate bridge! The boat was packed full of people so it was hard to get good pictures but I managed to get some good shots of some of the things we passed. After the boat it was time for lunch. Went we went Boudin bakery I loved looking at all bread in fun shapes.  For lunch I had an amazing veggie sandwich . After lunch we went somewhere I’ve been wanting to go for a while the Aquarium of the Bay. This Aquarium was pretty small but it was still fun. I enjoyed looking at the fish and the otters. After enjoying the aquarium we decided to go on a bus tour. We went on the big bus tour. On the big bus tour you can hop on and off the bus at different locations but we decided to stay on the bus for the most of the loop and listen to the tour guide as he gave some interesting information about every stop. We ended up getting off the bus a stop or two before the end of the full loop. When we got of the bus we ended up walking  around pier 39 some more and we went and looked at the the famous seals. After that we walked to a Starbucks for some food and drinks before heading back home after a fun filled day.

Summer fun catch up ! 8/2019

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I’ve been so busy writing the posts about my vacation to Portland . I’ve gotten behind on telling you all about my summer fun so let’s catch up shall we ?

Summer fun catch up ! 8/2019

Ok, so where do I start ? I know I’ll start with going to see the Lion King after I  got back from Portland. If you knew me when I was young you would know how much of a Lion king fan I am. It’s still one of my favorite movies to this day. When I saw the remake last month I was able to pick out some the lines that were different from the original. I enjoyed the remake it’s was very impressive I recommend going to see if you get the chance. I’ve also been using my Yogurt Land gift card that I won. I’ve been having a fun time treating people to yogurt. My friend and I went to one of our favorite books stores and we picked out blind date books for each other. A blind date book is a book that is wrapped up and you don’t know what it is till after you buy it!  Before I left for Portland I had a fun time celebrating the 4th of July I got some great pictures of the Fire Works . I also got to go to Petroglyph  which is a studio where you paint ceramics and I painted a very cute bunny ! On the last day of July I bought a set of my little pony toys their tails turn to rainbow colors when you put them in water. You know how the saying goes time flies when your having fun and that perfectly sums up Summer for me. I think we are pretty much caught up now so enjoy some pictures of my summer fun!

Portland OR. vacation part 6

On the last day of our vacation we had a good amount of time before we had to be at the airport but since our hotel was booked up we were not able to get a late check out. Luckily our hotel was able to hold our luggage for us while we went for a walk to pass the time.  We didn’t really have a plan for our walk our route was random. We did end up spending a good amount of time in this very cute toy store. The were so many cute toys in there including this very cute and round plush unicorn. we also got to see some awesome street art and a very cool fountain. Before we headed back to the hotel  we stopped at Starbucks for some drinks. After that we went back to the hotel got our bags and headed to the airport. At the airport we got some lunch before flying back home.  It was a nice relaxing day and great conclusion to our vacation.

Portland OR. vacation part 5

Hello,my bucket list friends it’s time for part 5 of my Portland adventure. In this part of my vacation I crossed off a list item that I can’t wait to tell all of you about. Here we go!

Portland OR. vacation part 5

Before I get into this  part of my adventure I’m gonna rewind a little bit and tell you a funny story. The day we left for vacation I booked a helicopter tour of Portland for my mom and I . Not only did a helicopter tour sound like a lot of fun I was excited to cross another item of my list ,at least that’s what I thought. A few days before the tour I was looking at my bucket list to see what number I would soon be crossing off. I was shocked when I realized that ridding in a helicopter was not on my list after all! There really was no need to panic though because since I wanted ridding in a helicopter to be on my bucket list I just added it. One of the great thing about a bucket list is that you can keep on adding to it as you find new things you want to do. Anyways now that we are all caught up, let’s get back to my adventure in Portland. The day of the helicopter ride I was very excited  to experience something new. The ride was scheduled for noon, we got there a little early but we were the first ones of the day so we started filling out the paper work right away.  Our helicopter pilot was very friendly and talkative. I had a fun time taking pictures by the helicopter then it was time to ride. It felt really awesome to use a head set to talk to each other during the ride. I had only seen thins kind of thing on TV before. Now let’s talk about the views . Portland was built in a forest and getting to see that huge forest from the air was simply amazing! I also really enjoyed seeing the rose garden from the air it looked just as beautiful as it did on land! After our ride we headed on to our next activity  The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. I was excited to visit this museum because they had a Pixar exhibit there!  After we got our tickets for the museum. we went to the Imax theater located in the museum. We saw a moved called superpower dogs. The movie focused on dogs who have very important jobs everything from search and rescue to therapy dogs. My mom and I both really enjoyed it. If you ever get a chance to see this movie I highly recommend it. When it was time to go to the Pixar exhibit I was very excited! I love the movies that Disney and Pixar make together and I was looking forward exploring the exhibit. After watching a video about the exhibit it was finally time to go see it ! I really enjoyed looking at big statues of some of Pixar’s most famous charters including Dory and Buzz Lightyear . I also had a fun time doing the interactive stations at the exhibit. These stations let you experience parts of the animation process for yourself.  After the Pixar exhibit We checked out some of the museum’s regular exhibits before going to our last exhibit of the day, a submarine!  Now, I’m not talking about a model submarine , I’m talking about a real submarine that is kept in the river right next to the museum. When you are on the submarine you are actually under the water!  It was very interesting walking around a real submarine.  There was a lot to see and we had a great tour guide who gave us all kinds of information about the submarine. Needless to say this day was jammed packed with a lot of fun. It was a great was to spend the last full day of our vacation. Rock On – Christina Epperly

Portland OR. Vacation part 4

Hello, my bucket list friends ! The Portland adventure continues with part 4 here we go !

Portland OR. Vacation part 4

This day of our adventure got off to an early start. We had a tour of  Multnomah Falls and other amazing places scheduled. We hopped on the tour van and headed off for a fun adventure. When the van got to the area where the falls were located it was just a short walk to the falls. The falls were very beautiful but they are also very popular and attract a crowd. The tour took us to many beautiful places including , Latourell falls and a very pretty look out. Some of the other places we went to were not as popular as Multnomah falls so there were less people. We also got a view of the famous haystack rock.  I had a fun time walking through the beautiful and very green forests.  Portland is a great place for nature lovers. For our next activity we went back to Washington Park to explore the Portland Japanese gardens.  The gardens of course were very beautiful just like most of Portland. I enjoyed watching the Koi fish just like I had the day before. There is something very relaxing about watching Koi fish peacefully swim around. The Japanese garden also had some Zen gardens. I have seen small zen gardens before but nothing like this. The Zen gardens there were truly works of art.  As with most of Portland the garden was lush and green. This day was filled with a lot a breath taking views of nature but the next day I would be seeing the beauty of Portland from another view point.

Portland OR. Vacation part 3

Hello,my bucket list friends! Here is part 3 of my summer vacation to Oregon!

Portland OR. Vacation part 3

Sunday started with me finishing my coloring page that I got from the world forestry center and a visit to Stump Town Coffee Roasters. I really enjoyed the coffee at Stump Town. The original plan for the day was to take an Uber to Beverly Clearly sculpture garden but the Uber turned out to be too expensive so we ended up going to the Lan Su Chinese Gardens which was walking distance from our hotel. The garden was absolutely beautiful I loved watching the huge koi fish swimming in the pond. The garden was a very peaceful place. It was very relaxing to just walk around and take in all the beauty of the garden. After exploring the garden we had an amazing lunch at a Mexican restaurant. After lunch we ended up walking around the city and we went back to the mall where we were the day before. I went back to the Made in Oregon store and I got a Portland t-shirt. This was also the day we got to check out an ice cream place that was near out hotel. The ice cream was really good and the ice cream shop was very cute. This day wasn’t as busy as most of the other days on this trip but it was still very enjoyable.

Portland OR. vacation part 2

Hello, my bucket list friends and welcome to part two of my vacation to Portland OR. I have another fun-filled day to tell you about so let’s get to it.

Portland OR. vacation part 2

We started off the morning with a visit to Powell’s the world’s largest book store. It goes without saying that this place is huge! It took me a while to find the children’s section but when I did I was not disappointed! I had to ask where the American girl books were because there were so many shelves. when I got to that section I had a hard time deciding which books I wanted to get but I up choosing three American Girl books. My mom found a travel book and a travel journal. Our next activity for the day was a walk around the city that my mom planned out . During our walk I found a souvenir shop I wanted to check out. This adorable shop called made in Oregon is located in a mall. I had a great time picking out souvenirs including two snow globes. After that we continued our walk and ended up at the very popular Saturday market. The Market was very crowded so we didn’t stay long. After that we walked to Whole Foods for lunch. This whole foods was a really good size plus I got a very cute sunflower cupcake!

After having some great food it was time to visit another one of Portland’s popular attractions the Pittock Mansion. It’s easy to say that the Mansion is a pretty impressive place. I loved the amazing cake shaped staircase that I’m pretty sure was made out of marble. I also loved the amazing views from the back of the Mansion. It was truly a beautiful place to visit. After the Mansion we headed back to Washington Park to check out the rose garden. This massive garden has pretty much every kind and color of rose that you can think of ,plus it’s free to go see. I had a great time checking out all of the roses in the beautiful garden. I also enjoyed taking pictures of the roses. This day was one of my favorite days of my trip to Portland but there more fun filled posts to come! Rock on – Christina Epperly

Portland Oregon vacation part 1

Hello, my bucket list friends! I’m so happy to finally start writing about my amazing vacation to Oregon!

Portland Oregon vacation part 1
My adventure to Oregon started with a evening flight from San Francisco to Portland. We arrived in Portland fairly late . We took an Uber to the hotel, checked in , settled in and went to sleep. The next day was the start of a great adventure. We headed to the Oregon zoo in Washington Park . At the Oregon zoo I got to see some of my favorite animals. Including an elephant, bunnies, birds a domestic cat and giraffes. We also got tickets to ride the carousel and the train at the zoo. I loved ridding both of them but of course the carousel was my favorite ride. After looking at all the cool animals , it was time for the gift shop. I wasn’t able to get a snow globe here because the only one that I saw there was out of my price range. I ended up we some great things including a key chain and a magnet. After the gift shop my mom and I took some pictures in a photo booth before making the short walk to our next activity , The world Forestry Center. This amazing museum has many displays about forestry and conservation. I enjoyed looking at the interesting displays . Some of my favorite things I did there were the river rafting simulator , getting to sit in a big piece of forestry equipment, seeing big tree stumps, and walking across an inside bridge. I also got a free coloring page .  After the Forestry center we hopped on the free shuttle that goes around Washington Park . We took the shuttle to the Hoyt arboretum. When we got there we deiced to walk on a short tail but the signs were confusing and it was not clear were the trail was. We ended up walking around the beautiful forest area for a little while before getting back on the shuttle and heading to one more stop in Washington park  before going to eat. Our last activity in Washington park for the day was the Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial.  The majority of the memorial was located in a beautiful grassy area on top of a hill. There were several beautiful memorial walls with information and names carved into them. After walking around the memorial for a while, We headed back to downtown Portland to eat. It took a long time to get there because a freeway was closed. When we finally made it to the restaurant, we had some amazing food then we went back to our hotel. It was to time for some rest before waking up to another adventure filled day.
