2018 goals how did I do ?

Hello, my bucket list friends ! It’s time to see how well I did with my 2018 goals ! Here we go !

2018 Goals

Cook more at home instead of eating out –

Nope this one just didn’t happen . With two jobs and everything else going in my life I was just too tired and too busy to cook . I know some people love to cook and find it relaxing but it just not my thing especially after a long day of work.

Pay off at least one of my credit cards and get the other balances as small as possible –

Another nope but I did get one of my student loans paid off.

Have at least $1000 dollars in my savings account by the end of the year-

Nope not even close !

Pass the MBLEX and start working as a massage therapist

I passed the meblex ( You can read about it here) but I’m still looking for the right place to work as a massage therapist .

Cross 10 more things off my bucket list-

So close ! I crossed 9 things off this year !

Improve my credit score

My credit score is ok but I have not reached my goal number yet.

Get back in to doing races

I did one 5k this year I wanted to do more then that but life got way to busy

As you can see I didn’t do all that great with my goals for this year but overall I’m proud with the things I did accomplish this year. I mean I became a certified massage therapist and met Alice Cooper so I really can’t complain but I hope I meet for of my goals for 2019!

Bye 2017 Hi 2018

Hello, my bucket list friends and happy 2018! I hope all of you had a fun and safe time celebrating the new year! In my next blog post I’ll be talking and my plans and goals for the new year, but for this blog post I’m going tell you all about how I celebrated the last day of 2017 and welcomed 2018.

New year’s fun

My New Year’s Eve celebration started with an end of year hang out with my friend Amy. We went to Starbucks and talked about our plans and goals for the new year, then we went on a nice walk. After spending some time back at home. I went to my cousin Amanda’s house to get ready to go celebrate the new year at Gilroy gardens. I had just ben to Gilroy gardens for the first time on December 23rd   . but I was very excited to go again. (you can read about it here) After getting my makeup done by my cousin. Her fiancé came to pick us up and we headed off to Gilroy gardens! We didn’t have a lot of time before the fireworks, but we went on 3 rides, got some food, new year’s hats and accessories. I also bought a really cool light up cup.  Amanda found a really good stop to see the fireworks and all of us had a wonderful time welcoming 2018 while watching some pretty awesome fireworks! After a long day of fun, I crashed with my cousin for the night. I was tired but so thankful that I had a great time welcoming in the new year.

I hope all of you live 2018 to the fullest . Rock on – Christina Epperly

2017 year in review

Hello, my bucket list friends! wow this year has been wild! There were so many ups and downs that I lost count. It’s safe to say that I have grown a lot this year. My self-confidence is much higher than it has ever been. I know now that I’m capable of accomplishing much more than I ever thought I could, but this year also had some situations that I had a hard time facing. Let’s take a walk down 2017 lane and I will tell you about some of the most impactful moments of my year.

The Wonderful

This year was full of many wonderful moments, the one that stands out to me first, Is my surprise trip to Disneyland! (you can read about it here) Talk about the perfect surprise at the perfect time. Then there was my Los Angeles bucket list trip! I crossed five items off in just a few days. (you can read about it here) There is no way I could forget about my NHI graduation! (read about it here) Oh and yeah, I turned 27 this year and I celebrated with my little pony birthday (read about it here) I also went to Idaho for the first time ever and I loved going to the zoo and aquarium. (read about it here) This year was packed with wonderful positive memories. I had a Better than expect summer complete with two amazing concerts one from the band Boston at my favorite outdoor venue and the other was a concert on the beach from the band Quite Riot, I did tons of shopping spent lots of time with family and friends including going to my cousin’s beautiful wedding (you can read about my summer here , here ,here. and here) I saw some great movies this year, the my little pony movie was amazing I also really enjoyed the movies hidden figures and COCO and of course Star Wars!  There is no way I can forget crossing off #55 (ride on the back of a motorcycle) and #215(get some Lisa Frank clothes) off my list. (read about it here and here) There are so many good things that happened thins year it is hard to list them all, but I’ll do my best. I was so blessed to start two wonderful jobs this year that I love. One is a front desk receptionist at a massage studio the other is as a teacher’s aide at a preschool. Having two jobs that I love has done a lot of good for my mental health.  Other fun adventures include my trip to the Walt Disney family museum, ( read about it here) posting a lot of YouTube videos including  my bucket list talk videos , ( read about it here ) getting a new smart  phone ( I got the Google Pixel and it is my favorite phone that I have ever had ) , Then there was #207 Where I got something that I had been wanting for a long time  ( you can read about it here )and of course all the time that I spent with the people I love .  As busy as this year was I crossed eight items off my bucket list. This year was filled with great times with great people and I’m excited to have more great times in 2018!

The not so wonderful

As I said at the beginning of this post this year was wild and Like every year there was some challenging things that happened. The one that comes to mind first is my grandparents moving away I’ve wrote a little bit about this and don’t get me wrong I had a great time going to visit them and I’m very happy for them, but it was very hard for me when they moved so far away. I cried plenty of tears over them leaving. Time has been the best healer for this pain and I’m getting much better but that was one of the most difficult things that happened this year. The beginning of this year got off to a rocky start with some pretty crazy weather complete with fallen power polls and trees. The road was blocked for a while and parking was a little hard to come by while work was going on to clean up the mess. Until April I was working retail, I enjoyed working at the store and I loved the people I worked with but sometimes hours could be hard to come by and that’s how it was at the beginning of this year. I was getting called by bill collectors and that was a very stressful thing and I felt helpless. It was not a good feeling at all but here I am ending this year with two amazing jobs that have steady hours. Another very stressful thing that happened this year was when my cat cooper got stuck in a tree for hours! ( you can read about it here ) We had to call a tree service to come get him and it was a night that I had to go to school. As I wrote about in the post before this one, I failed the MBLEX and that was a hard disappointment to face but with the new year comes new opportunities and I’m ready to move past all the hardships of 2017 and go into 2018  with my head held high .

I hope all of you have a blessed 2018 . Rock on – Christina Epperly

My January 2017 comfort zone buster

Hello my bucket list friends ! Since January is ending, I wanted to share my progress with all of you on my new year’s goal of getting out of my comfort zone. Each month I’m going to pick one area to work on to get me out of my comfort zone. This month’s Comfort zone buster is to interact with new people more and put myself out there more . Sometimes I have a hard time talking to new people, Something as simple as asking someone who works in a store where something is can cause me great anxiety. The first thing that I did to help me with this Comfort zone buster was to make a profile on a dating app. This helped me to talk to all different kinds of people even though it was just typing back and forth. It helped me to feel less anxious when talking to people. Using dating apps has helped me to boost my self-confidence and to feel less anxious when talking to people online and in person. I have been working hard to be more outgoing in person . I’ve been doing things like asking for help, being very friendly when greeting people at work. Another step I took to help me with this goal was tweeting to some of my favorite celebrity’s. I was always afraid to do this because I was worried that I would get negative responses from other people but I just pushed that fear away and told some very talented people how much they mean to me. There was one more thing that helped me with this goal. Long story short I ended up giving a speech in front of my class at school and I aced it! It was a wonderful feeling.   Of course, I’m not completely over my anxiety but I have gotten more comfortable with being uncomfortable. I’ve learned that it is ok to talk to people and to ask others for help.  This month’s comfort zone buster was a success and I can’t wait for next month’s comfort zone buster .

New Year’s goal 2017

Hello bucket list friends! today is the last day of 2016 so I thought I would share my goal for 2017 with all of you. My goal this year is inspired by Yes Theory.  if you don’t know who Yes Theory is let me tell you. They are a group of amazing guys who are always trying new things and stepping out of their comfort zones . I love watching their YouTube videos and that is what inspired my new year’s goal. My goal for 2017 is to get out of my comfort zone and to take more risks. I find that I often let fear and anxiety hold me back from trying new things and sometimes even talking to people. This year I want to get uncomfortable and face my fears head on. I want to meet new people, try new foods and much more. I don’t know where my goal will take me but I’m sure I will go on some great adventures.
