Hello Summer 2020

Hello my bucket list friends ! When you’re in school they tell you when your summer starts and ends. Since I’m not in school I decided my summer would be from the first day of June to the last day of August. I celebrated the start of summer yesterday by going to CVS and getting this fun set of Mickey Mouse plastic straws that I had been wanting. Then later in the day I got a Slurpee. I used one of my new straws in the Slurpee! It was a perfect way to start the summer! I hope you all have great summers !

Grow animals !

Hello,my bucket list friends ! Recently In another post ( you can read it HERE) I mentioned that I got a sloth grow toy at Target well I also got a dinosaur grow toy at CVS. I can’t wait to tell you more about both of the grow toys so here we go !

Grow animals !

Let’s start with the dinosaur. This grow toy came in a plastic egg filled with slime. I took the dinosaur out of the egg and put it in a cup water. This grow animal was very simple and worked like other grow animals I have seen. In just a day or so my little dinosaur had grown many times it’s size! It was fun to see how big the dinosaur got. Now, on to the sloth. The sloth was different from the dinosaur because you couldn’t even see the sloth at first it was hiding in a tree stump. You put the tree stump in the water so the sloth would grow out of it. On the box it said that it would take the sloth a few days to come out. I left the sloth in there for probably over a week maybe even longer before I broke the stump open and got the pretty big sloth out. I could see the stump breaking more and more as time went on. I thought it’s head was gonna pop up like the picture on the box showed but it was the back of it’s head that popped up instead. When I took The sloth out of the tree stump I was so happy to see how cute it was!   Overall I liked both of these grow toys and I would like to try other grow toys sometime.

Hello Coral!

Hello, my bucket list friends! I recently got my second American Girl doll and I wanted to do a quick post introducing her ! I got her from Ebay for about half the price of a new doll. She does have one set of eyelashes missing but she is perfect to me . I named her Coral for two reasons, one being I just simply liked the name. The other reason was I thought that it would be cool for me and my American Girl dolls to all have names that start with C. I also really love the outfit she came in. My first American girl doll Clover is happy to have a bestfriend and I’m happy to have two American girl dolls ! Rock On – Christina Epperly

A big box of dolls

Hello, my bucket list friends ! Some of you may remember when I got boxes filled with My Little Pony toys from Ebay.  ( you can read about it HERE ) Well this time I got a big box of Barbies and other similar dolls. I can’t wait to tell you more about it so here we go!

A big box of dolls

I had a lot of fun opening up the boxes of ponies that I had got from E bay so I thought it would be fun to order a big box dolls. The box I got was mainly barbie dolls but there were a few other kinds of dolls in the mix such as Disney princess dolls. The first thing I did was to sort through the dolls and decide which ones I was going to keep. After I sorted through the box I decided to keep 16 of the dolls. The next step was to wash all of them in the bathtub since they all have been played with. Some of the dolls had marks on them or sticky hair so a bath was much needed. I looked online to see how to best wash a Barbie doll’s hair . The first video that I watched said to use regular shampoo and conditioner so that’s what I used. I put  the dolls and doll clothes in the bathtub . Then I put soap and warm water in the bathtub to get them extra clean. I let them soak for awhile then I washed their hair and rinsed them off. I let them air dry over night . The next day I re-rinsed off a few of the dolls that had sticky hair. Finally I got them all dried dressed and they all looked great! I’m so happy that I decided to get a big box of dolls from Ebay ! What would you order a big box of ? Rock On – Christina Epperly

creativity to the rescue !

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I’m pretty sure we all know that life can throw a lot of stress our way sometimes. There are many different ways of coping with stress such as exercising , reading , playing music and much more! For me being creative is what helps me cope with stress. On Monday I went to Petroglyph a ceramic studio. I painted an Elephant and an egg , my mom painted a beautiful sunflower plate. I love being able to sit down and focus on making art. I love the way I painted my elephant and egg ! I also have my bedroom pretty well stocked with craft kits. I recently did a butterfly mosaic  craft kit that I got at the Good Will. This kit came with a cut out of a butterfly and foam pieces to to decorate the butter fly with. Originally the foam pieces were sticky and simply stuck to the butterfly  but the kit was older and the adhesive had dried.  I used glue to stick the pieces on. I enjoyed putting the foam pieces on the butterfly. It would be fun to do another kit like this.

scribble scrubbies !

Hello, my bucket list friends ! As some of you may know I’m a big kid at heart that loves toys. Recently I got to play with scribble scrubbies a toy that I had been wanting to try for a while . I can’t wait to tell you all about this fun a creative toy ! Here we go .

scribble scrubbies !

I’ve known about Scribble Scubbies for a while and I’ve really been wanting to try them . This toy is made by Crayola. Scribble Scrubbies are fuzzy animals that you can color with markers then scrub them off and color them again. I got a set of two scribble Scrubbies on Saturday and I had a single scribble scrubby that I bought back around December. I was excited to color all three scribble Scrubbies ! I started with the bird from the set of two that I  bought at CVS. I noticed right away that the animals were fuzzy and not smooth. I think the fuzzy texture helps to keep the color on until you wash it off. I had a fun time decorating the bird . Some of the marker rubbed off the bird and on to my jeans but it’s washable so I wasn’t worried about it. Next I scribbled on the Zebra that came in the pack of two. Then it was time to color the poodle that came in the single pack. I enjoyed letting my creativity go wild as I scribbled on the animals. When It was time to wash them off I got the brushes that came with the animals. It was fun to scrub the animals with the brushes but water got most of the marker off on it’s own. When I was done washing them you could see a little bit of marker left but I was happy with how easily most of the color washed out . I’m really happy I got to try Scribble scrubbies . I wonder what toy or craft I’ll try next ! Rock on – Christina Epperly

Breaking Cosmopolitan’s rules

Hello, my bucket list friends! A few years ago I came across an article on cosmopolitan’s website listing items that adults should not wear. To sum up the article ( published on February 11th 2015 ) the author ( Charles Manning) stated that some things about dressing as an adult were pretty much universal .  The article goes on to say that there were certain items of clothes that gave the message that the adult who was wearing them would be seen as Silly, Juvenile , fussy and cheap among other things. You can check out the article for yourself HERE . As you may be able to tell I don’t agree with the article. I decided to choose five out of the ten items listed wear them myself and tell all of you what it was like to wear them. Before we dive in to my experiences with wearing these items,  I want to make something clear. I have nothing against the author of this article and would like to give him a shout out as a talented writer ! He has some great articles that he has written for Cosmopolitan Including this one and this one. I just don’t agree with this specific article and I decided to challenge it. Now with all that said here we go !

Breaking Cosmopolitan’s rules

Cat ear sweat shirt – The first item from the list that I decided to wear was the cat ear sweat shirt . Cat ear sweat shirts are normal sweat shirts with cat ears attached to the hood. Yes, these are popular with children but there is no reason why they can’t be popular with adults as well. I bought my cat ear sweat shirt from amazon. It was very easy to find this style of sweat shirt in adult sizes. I had a few different styles to chose from. I ended up choosing a pink sweat shirt that no only had the ears but also had a cat face printed on the front of it. The sweat shirt was very comfy and cute. After wearing it at my house I wore it on a walk with my mom. I did have to take it off during the walk because I got warm. After our walk I met a friend we went to the movies and the candy store. My friend complemented me on the sweat shirt and I did not experience any negative feed back that I’m aware of. I really like this sweat shirt and I plan to wear it many more times !

Bows – The next item I chose to wear was a pair of shoes with bows on them.  I found a cute pair of leopard print flats with little bows on the front. I got this item at the Good Will there were a few other pairs of shoes with bows on them but I chose this one partly because I love leopard print and I want to add more of it my closet. Now, the shoes were a little small for me so they were on the uncomfortable side but other then that I loved them. I didn’t feel weird or awkward wearing them at all. I thought that these shoes were a nice touch to my outfit.

Rebel shirt – This next item I wore with the the bow shoes so I was breaking two rules in one outfit. That’s pretty rebellious if you ask me ! Now, I love graphic tees so I had no reservations about breaking this rule. After searching on Amazon I found this stylish lace top that said rebel since forever in big gold letters.  I knew that it would be the perfect shirt to break this rule with.  It was a cropped shirt so I put a camisole on under it. I liked the way the outfit turned out.

tutu socks – Even though I do remember having tutu socks as kid I think they are just fine for adults to wear. I got one pair of tutu socks from Amazon. They were the classic white tutu socks but they do come in other colors. I wore the tutu socks two days in a row but they really couldn’t be seen by others because my pants covered them.  They were very comfortable and I forgot that I was wearing a different kind of sock. I will totally wear these socks again.

Butterfly print – The last rule I decided to break was wearing butterfly print. I found a very cute butterfly print dress on amazon. My family had their Thanksgiving celebration a little earlier this year so more people could make it. I also had a work meeting later that evening. I knew that this dress would be perfect for both events. I really love the way the dress looked on me. It fit really well and it was very comfortable besides being a little on the long side. I loved the overall look and feel of this dress. I felt that the buttery print was artsy and not kid like at all. I will more than likely wear this dress again.

In conclusion have fun with your clothes and butterflies are awesome ! Rock On – Christina Epperly

My very own puzzle!

Hello, my bucket list friends ! At summer camp many years ago I remember doing a make your on puzzle activity and really enjoying it. A while ago I bought my own blank puzzle to decorate. Yesterday I decided to turn my blank puzzle into a work of art. I can’t wait to tell you about my own personalized puzzle so here we go !

My very own puzzle!

The blank puzzle had been sitting on my arts and crafts shelf for awhile and I decided that yesterday was the day to turn it from blank to colorful. I chose to use sharpie markers to decorate my puzzle. I wan’st sure what to draw at first . I was deciding between an under water seen and a classic sunny day seen. I decided on a sunny day picture it was a sunny day after all! I started by drawing a smiling sunshine in the corner. After that my creativity went wild as I drew flowers, balloons, butterflies, and more ! As I worked to fill up as much blank space as possible I began to love my puzzle more and more! It was a bit difficult to draw on the puzzle pieces where they connected but overall I really enjoyed making my own puzzle and I love the way it turned out. I would totally buy another blank puzzle. If you are looking for a fun and easy project to do I highly recommend this. I got mine at Michaels but they are available other places as well. Rock On – Christina Epperly
