Drawing a summer picture!

Hello, my bucket list friends! Back in 2010 I started drawing a picture to celebrate summer. I did miss 2011 but other than that I’ve been doing it ever since. Today was the day I drew this year’s picture. I used colored pencils and crayons for this year’s picture. I’m really happy with the way my picture looks. I was just kind of making things up as I went when I drew this picture. However, I’m very happy to have this drawing as a part of my art collection.

Montana adventure part 2

Hello,my bucket list friends! Welcome to part two of my Montana adventure! I’m excited to share the next part of my adventure with you so let’s dive on in!

Montana adventure part 2

day 3

We started off day three with a hike on the four dances trail. One of things that I leaned about Montana is that there are grasshoppers everywhere! The trail was covered in them. My favorite part about this hike is the views. It was nice to get to see Billings from up high. This hike did make me a little nervous. I was worried that we would see a rattle snake because it was so warm that day. We didn’t see any rattle snakes but I did forget to put sunscreen on the back of my neck and I got quite a burn. At least it was just a small area of my neck that got burned. After our hike we went to explore the Yellowstone art museum. There were some great works of art in this museum but my favorite was the children’s art exhibit. After the museum we went to well Pared for lunch. After lunch we walked around and I bought a Montana shirt at a shop that we had been to the day before but this time there was a very friendly dog visiting the store! On our way back to the hotel our very nice Uber driver told us about a town called Red Lodge. She said that she could take us there the next day. I was excited to explore a new place. After relaxing at the hotel for awhile we took an Uber to Starbucks but it turned out to be closed. We ended up walking to Walmart and I got another Montana shirt. Day three brought a lot walking and a lot of adventure!

Day 4

We started off the day by meeting our Uber driver from the day before. We got in the car and headed to Red Lodge. Our first stop was a visitor center. After that we drove through the town to this beautiful lookout point. The views were beautiful but my favorite part was feeding sunflower seeds to the friendly chipmunks! After feeding the chipmunks we went back to the town of Red Lodge. We went right to the Yellowstone animal sanctuary. I had a fun time visiting the animals. The raccoons were my favorites but I also enjoyed seeing the bears and porcupines. There is also a very friendly cat there. Before we left  we stopped by the gift shop. I love the plush owl that I got. After exploring the animal sanctuary.  We were getting hungry so we put our names on a list at a restaurant. While we were waiting we went shopping. I got a snow globe and a magnet at a souvenir store. I also enjoyed going to the candy store and getting peppermints and other yummy treats. Then it was time for lunch. After having a very yummy lunch. It was time to head back to the hotel.    Day 4 was so much fun! This was one of my favorite days of vacation!

That concludes part 2 of my Montana adventure. Thanks for reading

Idaho vacation summer 2020 part 4

Hello, my bucket list friends! It’s time for the 4th and final part of my Idaho summer 2020 vacation posts! In this post I do one of my favorite things swimming! Without anymore delay Let’s jump on in to this post!

Idaho Vacation summer 2020 part 4

This post starts out on July 3rd. We didn’t have any solid plans for the 4th of July so I asked my grandparents if we could have a a small get together at their house with local family and they said yes! It was a very small get-together but I wanted to decorate like it was a big party. My mom and I went to the Dollar Tree for decorations. There were not many 4th of July decorations left at the store but we were able to get a a few things like  July 4th window stickers! After the Dollar Tree we went to get food for our  July 4th celebration. My favorite food item that we got were fourth of July cupcakes! After we finished getting everything we needed for our celebration we went to Starbucks and got coffee. That night we walked to the pool by grandparent’s house. We had a really fun time at the pool. There were a few other people there when we first got to the pool but because it was nighttime people started leaving and before we knew it we were the only people there! It was so nice having the pool to ourselves! I really love going swimming and I don’t get to do it very often so that made it extra special! It was overall a really great day now it’s time to tell you about our July 4th celebration. Before our celebration I had a lot of fun decorating the house.  I really liked putting up the window stickers even though not all of them stayed up! My grandparent’s enjoyed our celebration and our family liked the food that we picked out. The best part was that we didn’t have to go anywhere to see fireworks they were all around us!  I had fun taking pictures of the fireworks . The next morning we took a very early flight home.  I had a fun time in Idaho and I can’t wait to tell you about my next adventure.

Hello,my bucket list friends! I’ve been out of town for awhile but now it’s time to catch up with blogging.  Without anymore delay it’s time to announce this month’s book club pick.

Light Heart book club July 2020

This’s month’s book is going to be Melanie’s Last Ride by Joanna Campbell and Alice Leonhardt.  This book is number #29 in Thoroughbred series. I had never heard of this series before but when I saw this book at the Goodwill it looked interesting so I chose it as this month’s book. Horses are one of my favorite animals and I enjoyed watching the Saddle Club TV show when I was younger. I hope I really like this series because I’m always looking for new books to get into. As an added bonus there is a character named Christina!

Portland OR. Vacation part 4

Hello, my bucket list friends ! The Portland adventure continues with part 4 here we go !

Portland OR. Vacation part 4

This day of our adventure got off to an early start. We had a tour of  Multnomah Falls and other amazing places scheduled. We hopped on the tour van and headed off for a fun adventure. When the van got to the area where the falls were located it was just a short walk to the falls. The falls were very beautiful but they are also very popular and attract a crowd. The tour took us to many beautiful places including , Latourell falls and a very pretty look out. Some of the other places we went to were not as popular as Multnomah falls so there were less people. We also got a view of the famous haystack rock.  I had a fun time walking through the beautiful and very green forests.  Portland is a great place for nature lovers. For our next activity we went back to Washington Park to explore the Portland Japanese gardens.  The gardens of course were very beautiful just like most of Portland. I enjoyed watching the Koi fish just like I had the day before. There is something very relaxing about watching Koi fish peacefully swim around. The Japanese garden also had some Zen gardens. I have seen small zen gardens before but nothing like this. The Zen gardens there were truly works of art.  As with most of Portland the garden was lush and green. This day was filled with a lot a breath taking views of nature but the next day I would be seeing the beauty of Portland from another view point.

Portland OR. vacation part 2

Hello, my bucket list friends and welcome to part two of my vacation to Portland OR. I have another fun-filled day to tell you about so let’s get to it.

Portland OR. vacation part 2

We started off the morning with a visit to Powell’s the world’s largest book store. It goes without saying that this place is huge! It took me a while to find the children’s section but when I did I was not disappointed! I had to ask where the American girl books were because there were so many shelves. when I got to that section I had a hard time deciding which books I wanted to get but I up choosing three American Girl books. My mom found a travel book and a travel journal. Our next activity for the day was a walk around the city that my mom planned out . During our walk I found a souvenir shop I wanted to check out. This adorable shop called made in Oregon is located in a mall. I had a great time picking out souvenirs including two snow globes. After that we continued our walk and ended up at the very popular Saturday market. The Market was very crowded so we didn’t stay long. After that we walked to Whole Foods for lunch. This whole foods was a really good size plus I got a very cute sunflower cupcake!

After having some great food it was time to visit another one of Portland’s popular attractions the Pittock Mansion. It’s easy to say that the Mansion is a pretty impressive place. I loved the amazing cake shaped staircase that I’m pretty sure was made out of marble. I also loved the amazing views from the back of the Mansion. It was truly a beautiful place to visit. After the Mansion we headed back to Washington Park to check out the rose garden. This massive garden has pretty much every kind and color of rose that you can think of ,plus it’s free to go see. I had a great time checking out all of the roses in the beautiful garden. I also enjoyed taking pictures of the roses. This day was one of my favorite days of my trip to Portland but there more fun filled posts to come! Rock on – Christina Epperly

Portland Oregon vacation part 1

Hello, my bucket list friends! I’m so happy to finally start writing about my amazing vacation to Oregon!

Portland Oregon vacation part 1
My adventure to Oregon started with a evening flight from San Francisco to Portland. We arrived in Portland fairly late . We took an Uber to the hotel, checked in , settled in and went to sleep. The next day was the start of a great adventure. We headed to the Oregon zoo in Washington Park . At the Oregon zoo I got to see some of my favorite animals. Including an elephant, bunnies, birds a domestic cat and giraffes. We also got tickets to ride the carousel and the train at the zoo. I loved ridding both of them but of course the carousel was my favorite ride. After looking at all the cool animals , it was time for the gift shop. I wasn’t able to get a snow globe here because the only one that I saw there was out of my price range. I ended up we some great things including a key chain and a magnet. After the gift shop my mom and I took some pictures in a photo booth before making the short walk to our next activity , The world Forestry Center. This amazing museum has many displays about forestry and conservation. I enjoyed looking at the interesting displays . Some of my favorite things I did there were the river rafting simulator , getting to sit in a big piece of forestry equipment, seeing big tree stumps, and walking across an inside bridge. I also got a free coloring page .  After the Forestry center we hopped on the free shuttle that goes around Washington Park . We took the shuttle to the Hoyt arboretum. When we got there we deiced to walk on a short tail but the signs were confusing and it was not clear were the trail was. We ended up walking around the beautiful forest area for a little while before getting back on the shuttle and heading to one more stop in Washington park  before going to eat. Our last activity in Washington park for the day was the Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial.  The majority of the memorial was located in a beautiful grassy area on top of a hill. There were several beautiful memorial walls with information and names carved into them. After walking around the memorial for a while, We headed back to downtown Portland to eat. It took a long time to get there because a freeway was closed. When we finally made it to the restaurant, we had some amazing food then we went back to our hotel. It was to time for some rest before waking up to another adventure filled day.
