The bucket list item I forgot about!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! This does not happen to me often, but I forgot to tell you about an item I crossed off my bucket list! I crossed one of the easier items off of my list, and that list item was to get a pair of jelly shoes! I’m a very nostalgic person, and since these shoes were very common when I was growing up, I wanted to get a pair for nostalgic reasons! I’m pretty sure I had a pair as a kid, and I was excited to have a pair as an adult. I ordered a pair of green jelly sandals from Amazon. Now, these shoes are made for style and not for comfort! They look great, but this is definitely not a shoe to wear when you have a lot of walking to do. However, I do love that I crossed this item off of my bucket list, and I love my green jelly shoes!

Fun at the beach and exploring the Exploratorium

Hello, my bucket list, friends! In this post, I’m going to talk about two fun things that I did in July. One of them was a bucket list item! I can’t wait to tell you more, so let’s get to it!

July 10th – On this day, I had a dentist appointment, but they could not verify my insurance, so I went to the beach instead. Before going to the beach, I went to T.J Maxx to get some sand toys so I could build a sand castle when we got to the beach. We went to a small but nice beach. I was not really dressed for the beach since I had not planned on going that day. However, I still had a great time, and I built a few different sand castles. I had a fun time at the beach it turned out to be a great day.

July 11th – On this day, I crossed off a bucket list item by visiting the Exploratorium. I have wanted to visit this interactive museum for a while now. To sum it up, the Exploratorium is full of things that you can touch and that is very different from most museums. You will see some of the exhibits in my photos below. It is hard to explain all the fun things that I saw here but some of my favorites include a cloud made of lightbulbs, an arrangement of blocks that made a picture with a shadow, lots of plants, a ring of ice, and a close up look at corn. I also got some fun souvenirs. I highly recommend visiting the Exploratorium if you ever get the chance too. I’m very glad that I crossed this item off of my bucket list.

My wonderful Missouri Vacation part 3

Hello, my bucket list, friends! There has been a lot going on in my life lately. Some of it has been good, like crossing off bucket list items and shopping at fun places like Five Below and Target, but on the other hand, I got bronchitis. It has been hard to keep up with blogging, but I will get there. For now, please enjoy the third and final part of my Missouri vacation!

June 13th – On this day of vacation, I crossed off a big bucket list item when I went parasailing! Before we went parasailing, I had a fun time feeding fish. They had fish food that you could buy, and large fish, including cat fish, came to eat the food when it was thrown into the lake. Going Parasailing was amazing, and I highly recommend it to anyone who does not have a fear of heights. It feels like you are flying. I’m so glad that I bought the photo package. The photos turned out great! It was also fun having my toes dipped in the water. I was very happy to cross this item off my bucket list, and I would love to do it again. Our next activity was going hiking at Ha Ha Tonka State Park. It was a beautiful place to explore. Our hike had a lot of stairs, and it was a warm day, so needless to say that I was very happy to be back in the air-conditioned car when our hike was complete. After the hike we went to the visitor’s center where I bought some things to remember this very beautiful state park. After our adventures, it was time to eat. We went to a really nice restaurant that had good views and a good veggie burger. Later on in the day, we went to a go cart track. I road with my mom because driving is not my thing. I enjoyed the ride. It was a very adventurous day of vacation.

June 14th – On this day, we left Lake of the Ozarks and went back towards where the airport is because we were leaving early the next day. We still had one day left to have fun, and that is what we did. Our first big adventure of the day was going to Buc-ee’s . I had never gotten a chance to go before, and now that I had one, I was gonna take it. I do have to say that this was one of the most busy places that we visited on our vacation. I love how this place stays on theme. I just had to take a picture with the beaver statue out in front.  when I was in the store, I got to meet Buc-ee himself! I did a good amount of shopping here. I’m happy to say that I’m the owner of a Buc-ee beaver plush and more cute items from this place. I had a lot of fun there but the next place I went to was so amazing. I really hope I get to go back there some day. That place is the world’s largest toy museum complex. There are two buildings filled with displays of all different kinds of toys! My favorites included the amazing collection of 90’s lion king toys, the Crayola display, The Star Trek toys, The My Little Pony collection, the TY beanie babies, and the room full of Barbies! I spent a good amount of the in the Barbie room. It was a very impressive collection. There are also fun things outside of the museum, including a large Barbie Roller skate. After the museum we had some time before our next activity so we went to a park. It was a cute park and  it was a good place to spend some time before we went to see a wonderful play that evening. We saw the Queen Esther play at Sight and Sound theatres. To say this play was awesome would be an understatement! It was truly something that everyone should see. The theater itself was an amazing work of art. If you ever get the chance to go see a play here, I highly recommend it!

June 15th – This was the day we went home. We had a very early flight, so we did not get much sleep at all. In the airport that morning, I did my last round of souvenir shopping before getting on the plane to go home. It was a great vacation!

Thank you for reading about my vacation!

Travel and Adventure show 2024

Hello, my bucket list, friends! On Saturday I went to the travel and adventure show. It was at a local convention center that I had never been to before. I was excited to go to an event that I had never been to before. However, I was most excited to see Phil Keoghan, who is the host of The Amazing Race. The Amazing Race is one of my favorite TV shows. When my mom and I arrived at the show, we went to where Phil would be speaking. I was happy that we got seats with a good view. It was so cool to be that close to someone that I had seen on TV for years! When his amazing speech was over. The audience got a chance to ask questions. If you asked a question, you got two free shirts. Of course, I had to ask a question. I was not sure what I was gonna ask at first. I had come up with a question in my head while I was waiting for my turn. However, when I got up to the microphone, I decided to ask another question. You can see the video of me asking my question on my Instagram (summerrockstar) or on X (mallstar). The question that I ended up asking was, “What is an item on your bucket list that you have not crossed off yet that you are looking forward to?” Phil said that he wanted to go to space, but he went into detail about how he would say it for the Amazing Race. It was great! After seeing Phil, my mom and I explored the rest of the travel show. There was so much to see. There were many booths. I got so much free stuff, including pens, stickers, and a candle. I also got to learn about places that I had not thought about going to before. Another thing I did was that I got to met some very cute dogs that help to protect our agriculture. If you get a chance to go to a travel show, I highly recommend going.

I hope you had a wonderful weekend ! Love – Christina Epperly

Bucket list item 182 make pasta from scratch

Hello, my bucket list, friends ! I’m very happy to say that I’ve crossed off my first bucket list item in 2024! Yesterday, I made pasta from scratch. I do not consider myself to be very talented in the kitchen. I cook with the microwave most of the time. However, It turns out that making pasta from scratch is pretty easy. The main things that I needed were flour and eggs. I went to a grocery store yesterday that I do not normally go to. While I was there I some very cute valentines Day cards and some cupcakes with rings on top. When It came time to make my pasta, I was excited to cross another item off of my bucket list, but I was nervous that something would go wrong since I’m not very talented in the kitchen. However, I’m very happy to say I was able to mix the two ingredients together, let the dough rest, shape the noodles, and then cook them on the stove. I’m very proud of my pasta, and it tastes good, too. I can definitely see myself doing this again.

Bucket list #257 read 50 books in a year!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! I’ve already mentioned that I crossed read 50 books in a year off of my bucket list . However, I wanted to highlight this item in its own post. I started working on this item at the beginning of last year, but as it got closer to the end of the year, I realized I needed to really focus on it if I wanted to cross it off. I bought a bunch of short children’s books to help me with this goal. I’m happy to say that I was able to read enough books to cross this item off of my list! I always feel a sense of accomplishment when I cross an item of my list, and this item was no different . It was a good item to end the year with. I’ve already started working on reading a hundred books, so I can cross it off this year. What books do you plan on reading this year?

Bucket list item in progress!

Hello, my bucket list, friends! I have a nasty cold at the moment, but I’m still working on this one list item that I’m determined to cross off. That item is to read 50 books in a year. I’m halfway there. Since I did not keep up with this goal throughout this year. My strategy has been to read very short children’s books. I’m planning to go to my favorite local thrift store again where the books are very low cost and get more short books since I’ve already read the ones that I got there recently. I’ve been keeping track of my progress on good reads. I’m also close to finishing a longer book that I’ve been slowly reading throughout the year. I’m a pretty slow reader, and I get distracted easily, so reading short books seems to be the best way to cross this item off. I’m going to try to cross off read one hundred in a year in 2024. I’m probably gonna stick with this strategy for that list item as well.

Crossing off bucket list number 295 take a typing test!

Hello, my bucket list friends! I finally crossed off another list item and I’m planning to cross off more list items before the year ends! I want to focus on my list more than I have been. This list item was surprisingly fun to cross off. In order to cross it off I did a simple google search for a typing test. I found this awesome website called typing.com It was easy to start taking the tests and to earn certificates. It took me a little while to get a score that I wanted to print. The test was more challenging than I thought it would be but I got really into it I want to continue taking these tests and see how much I can improve. I printed out a certificate that had my best score on it. I want to continue with improving my score but as for now I’m happy that crossed another item off of my list.
