My top 3 places to buy arts and craft kits.

Hello, my bucket list friends ! It’s pretty obvious that I’m a big fan of arts and crafts kits. The kits I get are usually very simple and made with kids in mind. That is one I like about about them. I like doing projects that are simple and not complicated. If you like simple arts and crafts kits too stay tuned because I’m going to tell you my favorite places to buy them.

My top 3 places to buy arts and craft kits.

Dollar Tree – I have found a good amount of arts and craft kits from the Dollar Tree and it’s hard to beat the price. It’s also pretty easy to find some brand name craft kits here such as Crayola or Disney but even the kits that are not from a well known brand have been pretty good overall. The Dollar Tree also has a pretty large selection of arts and craft supplies. If you go looking for arts and craft kits at the Dollar Tree be sure to check out the seasonal section. They usually have seasonal art and crafts kits mixed in with the decorations and other seasonal items.

Thrift Stores – It’s not a secret that I’m a fan of thrift stores but what some people may not know is that they can be great places to find arts and craft kits and art supplies in general. I have found some pretty great arts and crafts kits at thrift stores including unopened Melissa and Doug craft kits! You never know what you might find when you go thrift shopping . Next time you go to a thrift store look around for some arts and crafts kits. You never know what you may find !

Michaels – One of the best arts and crafts stores I have been in ! I love this places It’s not hard to find craft kits here. I also really like the selection of seasonal craft kits that they have. For some one who loves arts and crafts it’s easy to spend a lot of time in this store!

Wooden bird house picture painting

Hello, my bucket list friends. I recently completed another craft kit that I had in my room. It was a very cute wooden picture of a bird house with birds that you paint. With out further delay let’s dive on in !

Wooden bird house picture painting

I was looking at my arts and craft supplies when I found this kit that I got from the Dollar Tree. One thing I loved about it was that the picture of the birds and the bird house was printed on wood and not paper. This kit came with the wooden picture , paints, a paint brush and a string to hang up your picture with. When I was painting I didn’t really care that much that the colors were mixing. I enjoying  painting so much that sometimes I don’t focus on the results. Instead of painting the whole bird house I decided to cover it with dots! I like making dots when I paint. When I was done painting I hung the picture up in my room. I did enjoy this craft kit and I would like to do more kits like this.

Wooden Butterfly art

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I recently wrote about some the things I got from shopping at the Dollar Tree and Target . ( You can read about it HERE ) One of the things that I got from the Dollar Tree was a wooden butterfly. Yesterday I deiced to was time to decorate it. Keep reading to here more about it. Here we go !

Wooden Butterfly art

The first thing I did to decorate my butterfly was to paint it. I used paint from other art kits that were in my room. I like the way that blue and yellow look together so I used those colors for the butterfly.  After I let the paint dry I got out my hot glue gun and a bunch of beads.  I glued the colorful beads of different shapes onto both sides of the butterfly. I’m very happy with how this project turned out . It’s so colorful and cute. When I go to the Dollar Tree again I want to get another wooden animal to paint !

Sun catcher crazy !

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I realize recently. I had a lot of sun catcher art kits in my room that I had not opened yet. I deiced to gather them all up and paint them. I can’t wait to tell you more about it so here we go !

Sun catcher crazy !

The first step to completing this project was to decide which sun catcher to paint first. I deiced to start by painting a frog sun catcher that I got at Walgreens. I really liked the way this sun catcher turned out . I used so many different paint sets that came with all of the kits but I’m pretty sure the paint quality of the first kit was one of the best. Some of the kits had been sitting in my room for a while and they did not have the best paint quality. One of the kits had sat on my windowsill for so long that the paint just didn’t look right at all so I didn’t even open it . I used paint from other kits to paint that sun catcher. I had a fun time painting all of the sun catchers. I’m so glad I deiced to paint the sun catchers it was a good project that provided me with both relaxation and entertainment.

Painting a piggy bank

Hello, my bucket list friends. As some of you know I love Melissa and Doug craft kits! Today I completed a paint your own piggy bank kit that I got at Savers. I can’t wait to tell you more about it so here we go!

Painting a piggy bank

I was excited when I got this kit at the thrift store but today was finally the day that I got to use it. This kit came with a very cute piggy bank, paint ,a paint brush ,glitter glue and stickers. I started off by painting the pig then I let it dry before painting some more. After a while I added some glitter glue. I decided to dry the pig with a hair dryer because I didn’t want to wait. The hair dryer did make the pig hot to the touch so air drying is probably the best option. I had a fun time doing this craft kit. I got paint allover my hands but I think that is all part of the fun! I’m happy with the way my piggy bank turned out. Rock On – Christina Epperly

Spring Time arts and crafts !

Hello, my bucket list friends and happy Spring! I decided to celebrate spring by doing some spring themed arts and craft kits. I can’t wait to tell more about it so here we go!

Spring Time arts and crafts !

For this post I got three spring themed arts and craft kits. The first art kit I did was a paddle ball game with a spring picture on the paddle for you to color. I loved how the design said yay spring on it because yay is one of my favorite words. I enjoyed coloring the flower with the three markers that came with the paddle. I also added some dots to add a little extra creativity to this art kit.

The next kit I did was a bunny shaped puzzle that came with three markers to color the puzzle. My favorite part of the kit was coloring the ears. I came up with a different color pattern for each ear.  I have not taken the puzzle out of the frame and built it yet but I plan to soon.

The third kit was a yarn craft. For this craft kit you used the pink balls of yarn and other pieces to make two very cute yarn bunnies. I did not see any instructions that came with the kit . I deiced to use hot glue to put all the pieces together. I’m happy with the way the yarn bunnies turned out !

There you have it my experience with some pretty cool arts and craft kits! Rock On – Christina Epperly

creativity to the rescue !

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I’m pretty sure we all know that life can throw a lot of stress our way sometimes. There are many different ways of coping with stress such as exercising , reading , playing music and much more! For me being creative is what helps me cope with stress. On Monday I went to Petroglyph a ceramic studio. I painted an Elephant and an egg , my mom painted a beautiful sunflower plate. I love being able to sit down and focus on making art. I love the way I painted my elephant and egg ! I also have my bedroom pretty well stocked with craft kits. I recently did a butterfly mosaic  craft kit that I got at the Good Will. This kit came with a cut out of a butterfly and foam pieces to to decorate the butter fly with. Originally the foam pieces were sticky and simply stuck to the butterfly  but the kit was older and the adhesive had dried.  I used glue to stick the pieces on. I enjoyed putting the foam pieces on the butterfly. It would be fun to do another kit like this.

scribble scrubbies !

Hello, my bucket list friends ! As some of you may know I’m a big kid at heart that loves toys. Recently I got to play with scribble scrubbies a toy that I had been wanting to try for a while . I can’t wait to tell you all about this fun a creative toy ! Here we go .

scribble scrubbies !

I’ve known about Scribble Scubbies for a while and I’ve really been wanting to try them . This toy is made by Crayola. Scribble Scrubbies are fuzzy animals that you can color with markers then scrub them off and color them again. I got a set of two scribble Scrubbies on Saturday and I had a single scribble scrubby that I bought back around December. I was excited to color all three scribble Scrubbies ! I started with the bird from the set of two that I  bought at CVS. I noticed right away that the animals were fuzzy and not smooth. I think the fuzzy texture helps to keep the color on until you wash it off. I had a fun time decorating the bird . Some of the marker rubbed off the bird and on to my jeans but it’s washable so I wasn’t worried about it. Next I scribbled on the Zebra that came in the pack of two. Then it was time to color the poodle that came in the single pack. I enjoyed letting my creativity go wild as I scribbled on the animals. When It was time to wash them off I got the brushes that came with the animals. It was fun to scrub the animals with the brushes but water got most of the marker off on it’s own. When I was done washing them you could see a little bit of marker left but I was happy with how easily most of the color washed out . I’m really happy I got to try Scribble scrubbies . I wonder what toy or craft I’ll try next ! Rock on – Christina Epperly

Mirror craft kit

Hello, my bucket list friends ! I just completed a very cute Melissa and Doug craft kit. I got this kit and the Goodwill, I was very excited when I saw it. Now, is the time to tell you how fun it was ! Here we go !

Mirror craft kit

This kit was a great thrift store find ! It came with a flower shaped mirror and items to decorate it with. I loved the craft jewels and the glitter glue ! I enjoyed gluing on the jewels and making dots on the mirror with two different colors of glitter glue! Decorating the mirror was very relaxing. I love the stress relief and happiness I get from crafting!   On the package it said to decorate both sides of the mirror so that’s what I did. After letting the mirror dry for awhile, I used the regular flat stickers that came with the kit to decorate the back. I just have to say that Melissa and Doug makes really good craft kits and I can’t wait to try more of them !
