Hello, my bucket list friends! I’m so happy to finally start writing about my amazing vacation to Oregon!

Portland Oregon vacation part 1
My adventure to Oregon started with a evening flight from San Francisco to Portland. We arrived in Portland fairly late . We took an Uber to the hotel, checked in , settled in and went to sleep. The next day was the start of a great adventure. We headed to the Oregon zoo in Washington Park . At the Oregon zoo I got to see some of my favorite animals. Including an elephant, bunnies, birds a domestic cat and giraffes. We also got tickets to ride the carousel and the train at the zoo. I loved ridding both of them but of course the carousel was my favorite ride. After looking at all the cool animals , it was time for the gift shop. I wasn’t able to get a snow globe here because the only one that I saw there was out of my price range. I ended up we some great things including a key chain and a magnet. After the gift shop my mom and I took some pictures in a photo booth before making the short walk to our next activity , The world Forestry Center. This amazing museum has many displays about forestry and conservation. I enjoyed looking at the interesting displays . Some of my favorite things I did there were the river rafting simulator , getting to sit in a big piece of forestry equipment, seeing big tree stumps, and walking across an inside bridge. I also got a free coloring page .  After the Forestry center we hopped on the free shuttle that goes around Washington Park . We took the shuttle to the Hoyt arboretum. When we got there we deiced to walk on a short tail but the signs were confusing and it was not clear were the trail was. We ended up walking around the beautiful forest area for a little while before getting back on the shuttle and heading to one more stop in Washington park  before going to eat. Our last activity in Washington park for the day was the Vietnam Veterans of Oregon Memorial.  The majority of the memorial was located in a beautiful grassy area on top of a hill. There were several beautiful memorial walls with information and names carved into them. After walking around the memorial for a while, We headed back to downtown Portland to eat. It took a long time to get there because a freeway was closed. When we finally made it to the restaurant, we had some amazing food then we went back to our hotel. It was to time for some rest before waking up to another adventure filled day.

Rock on – Christina Epperly
